Right then guys and gals - Just over a week to go now, It looks like the Aldershot bunch will be out in force over the SLCC weekend, time for us to press home an advantage on a smaller track, For some of us it marks our first whole year in SLCC as it was our first other track that we'd run on Who's camping? who's racing what? will Ian "crash" Newton have either of his two new cars out? I notice halfords has Gazebo's in and £39 quid.. - which is a bargain in my eyes!! Matt

Does Yeovil call for higher or lower gearing than Bashley? Comparative view on normal gip levels? 10.5 for us (maybe 17.5 too). We will be trying out our "new" 2.4ghz transmitter on the Saturday but returning to the faster 40mhz on the Sunday

The strait wall used to be quite forgiving but apparently (so Trev tells me) its now a fair bit harder,so stay clear..its a wishbone eater .....And dont run wide off the end of the strait sweeper too...some very large concrete blocks to stop you!!..Yeovils a track you "tip toe" round untill you know it,cars dont bounce well there!!

I dont know whether I will be camping yet as I may be busy that Saturday! So may be a early arrival sunday followed by Bashley setup.
If I do camp it will be that little tent and just myself

Okay guys. Listen up for your benefit. We had to make alterations to the barrier along the strait and it is now a bit harder, so best to stay clear. There are no "concrete" blocks anywhere on the track. The block barriers are made from a dense plastic, they are quite hard though . The track does have a course surface but I have never heard of anyone mention an annoying "grab steer" section. It is however, a track that has to be driven smooth and consistent. It will test the driver as the technical section does require correct lines. Getting the last corner right, coming off the final technical corner, allows the driver to be flat for the short strait under the rostrum and the main strait. Just recently we have broken track records and the average speed per lap over a race is now higher. If you can get it into the high 12s or low 13s, that will be competitive in 13.5. Trev

Thanks for the intell Les. Oh gawd another term; "taller" is that 5.0 instead of 5.1? Yes Pete even though the track produces quick laps the sweepers and strait is longer than Bashleys. Trev those big blocks look like concrete to me or at least as hard as!! Grab steer (my terminology) ....to the left of the tack half way round the infield there is a surface change that can catch you out...much like coming out of the thermometer at Bashley

Les. Easy mistake to make (especially at your age ;D). That change in track surface is only there to test you, see it as something special ;D Trev
