I had a long chat with Ady Jefferies (PRO for BRCA)
There's a race going on at the moto Arena site during the xmas period, I suggested they run a 17.5 class, as it has proven to be so popular through the south.
Could you give a shout in this thread if you'd be willing to come and support our favourite SHMCC class at this new venue in a few months?
For Juniors i'm sure we can arrange lifts etc. to get as many of us up there as possible.. classes should be 10.5/13.5/17.5
Maybe we could use it as our SHMCC Christmas outing!
Thoughts?

A few of us spent the day there on Sunday, you guys will love it. The tarmac is a bit weird as asphalt additive doesn’t seam to work, but carpet stuff does but only for half a dozen laps or so, 32’s is the only way to go on the tyre front. Also treat the track with a bit of respect and remember no track is a car breaker, it’s the person out of control that is the car breaker.

Mayb we should host a special post-xmas South hants meeting? maybe with some awards for last TQ, last fastest lap, last best average, best last final position improvement of 2010? get people out with a race day and a few challenges? Just an idea out there? could open another thread for that though, rahter than hijacking this one

Now I am confused. largest assigned entries 10.5 Largest no of entrants by far so far, 10.5. Class everyone on racechat is saying should be killed off, 10.5
Shame the idiots have scheduled it for when everyone is at work, if would have been fun for Ross to get a trial there for his first round of STCC 21.5 up there.

Ok went up to the moto arena today for a practice. Great facilities and track but very very smooth and shiny surface. No one could get grip it would over steer on power and understeer off power. Not just me, everyone up there had the same problem. Just couldn't get any heat in the tyres, warmers and all. 28s, even tried 24s but didn't even remove the shine off them. Think it needs to be warmer for it to work. I tried kit setup then changed flex options on top deck, springs, droop. Good news is the 12th worked really well. In fact had to much front grip if anything. And geared up with turbo also it flys. Nice track but too cold for rubber in my opinion. One guy from Newbury run wets and they worked but were dead after 30 laps .

Works out £10.00 for 4 hours. And I think that's not bad if you have a 12th or tc foams.

Looks like I may well be on holiday on the 29th after all; but reading your report Darren it seems it might not be worth getting up at 5am and hacking all the way up there unless temps signifactly improve.

Don't get me wrong I think it's a great layout and sized track but just no grip today. Was well impressed with foams on the Tarmac though had enough grip and ended up turning my steering rate right down as the track is so big. Used the same ride hight and settings as on carpet and worked well on the mirror flat surface. Db pink front and pink rears worked fine. Even switched to purple front by the end to free up the front a little. Loved it.

Adrian Jefferies Moto Arena Winter Grand Prix
With regards to the current entry level
Looking at the entries on line it would appear that this race is unlikely to go ahead due to poor support, but, and this is a big but, a lot of drivers are saying they still intend to enter which throws the organisers in to a bit of quandary. ... Moto Arena do not what to cancel the meeting, but they need to know a real estimation of actual numbers, with that in mind if you ARE intending to race at the Winter GP please enter on line now, the organisers will look again and make a decision on Saturday morning, realistically they need fifty plus drivers.
If you were one of the drivers who expressed an interest in the meeting when you came along to the BTCC event or the Orion meeting please commit now and get your entry in.
On behalf of the organisers Adrian Jefferies

Ok big turn around for me. The wife has also given me the day off on the 29th so I have booked in for 17.5. Let's hope the rubber laid down gets the grip up. Best crank up the turbo
