If you want to race in the STCC round at Bashley on June 29th get your bookings in now places are filling up fast. Booking can be done online and is simple and easy to use...just go to www.centralbooking.orgIf you can help out with a BBQ or with scrutineering please let us know as many hands make light work. We have booked the camping field for the full weekend so we should have plenty of space for visiting racers.

There's still a few places left in all classes for the STCC at Bashley next weekend if anyone would like to take part.

I may well have brain failure here but I cannot find it anywhere. What time does qualifying start and what time does registration open?

Heres the STCC rules for anyone who's thinking of taking part:
The 2008 STCC runs with three classes TC1 - BL6.5 or the Corally/STCC Brushed 12T modified. TC2 - BL10.5 or 19T Single Rebuildable Stock motor. TC3 - BL13.5 or 27T Single Rebuildable Stock motor. All motors must be commercially available. No specials, no hybrids. BL motors can be sensored or sensorless. Motors do not have to be on the BRCA approved lists, and can be any make and model that is commercially available in the UK. All classes to run 6 cell sub-c size cells or a hard cased 7.4 LiPo, with 5000Mah maximum capacity, all cells or packs to be commercially available in the UK STCC control tyres will be available trackside, every round, or from ModelTech. There is no "wet" tyre, only the one control tyre for all conditions.
Entry fee for 2008 is £8.00 per entry.

It looks like we're going to be a bit short handed for the STCC at Bashley this weekend, what with holidays and injurys...any help that anyone can give, if only for a couple of hours or in between races would be greatly appreciated.

I've spoken to Mike and tyres will definitely be available on the day. You can do an order online and Mike will bring them down to avoid postal delays.
Our club dictates practise times on Saturday so whenever the committee chooses. Presumably all day until early evening. Racing normally starts prompt by 9, so if you haven't booked in already you'll need to get there ASAP on Sunday (before 8)- no turning up at ten expecting a normal laid back Sunday meeting.
It's a lot of work for all concerned so the earlier problems can be sorted, the smoother the meeting will run.
Echoing Col's point, just because you may not be racing this weekend, why not come down and support the club and lend a hand for an hour or two.
Many hands and all that.
Mark

Dan yes, indeed the competiton will be strong, it is a well supported series by a group of loyal followers. Craig qualified 10th in the B final with 18/314. I recall though that the track was delivering tremendous grip in the afternoon with PBs everywhere and track records. 27T A final qualification needed an 18/301 (10th) - some chap called Ian Newton.
Dad is fine now, having passed the lurgy onto Craig on Sunday, so indeed fingers are crossed. And we may be missing our secret weapon. Ross recently joined the New Milton Eagles (why on earth he could not have joined Poole Pidgeons heaven knows) and has been selected for his first ever official match on Sunday afternoon. Family is trying to work out logistics.
Top 19T qualifier last year did 21/314 in qualies. Low 20s in the finals would have got you a podium

Indeed Dan did Col, a 1st, 4th and 1st. Craig got a 3rd and 2 DNFs, the 3rd being particulalry pleasing from 10th on the grid. Mega pile up on bend 2 at the start and out of the carnage came Craig in 2nd place!

Mike has the tyres in stock at Modeltech. If you need them for Saturday practise order them online now as he's not going to be there until Sunday.

Generators are allowed away from the track and must be off by 9pm to keep the farmer landlord happy.

The meeting did run very well, The drivers on the other hand "Remember they're only toy cars" ;D Bashley Village was as lively as usual, a good day with a great bunch, we did miss Mr Moon and his spoon(ing) though Oh Ian, I thought you gave up flying and started racing because you didn't want to loose the front of your plane in an impact
