Hi all, SHMCC have been asked to help out with the 2012 Ringwood pedal car GP on the 15th July.. As with the New Milton GP last year, we will be lending the indoor timing loop and kit to allow the pedal cars to the timed during the race.. This year the event has grown and they now have 72 entries which means the organisers are now holding two races during the day!! Unlike last year the event organisers will insist each car has a transponder bracket fitted or they won't get timed.. This should make our job of fitting the transponders much quicker!! So bottom line is.. I'm looking for volunteers to help during the day to fit transponders, help setup the loop etc.. and assist in promoting SHMCC with a few flyers.. If you're up for helping out please post here.. I'll provide more details as we get closer to the day But check out the Pedal Car GP site on the link below www.britishpedalcargrandprix.org/Thanks Big D

Don't the "new" transponders need a receiver to make them work? or are you using the old ones?

OK guys and girls, here we go.. Pedal Car GP is this weekend.. Gonna be a long but fun day!!! Transponder fitting to ALL 65 cars starts at 7:30 and needs to be finished by 10am! Good news is all cars will have a proper bracket fitted so it should only take a couple of minutes to switch on the transponder and tape the box on to the bracket.. We will need 2 teams of 2 if possible to make sure this gets done in time.. As soon as a transponder has been fitted the car will be driven over the loop to ensure its working OK.. Job done!! Race one starts at 11:15am and runs for 2 hours Race Two starts at 2:15 pm and again lasts for 2 hours If you can get to Ringwood for around 7am! We have been given permisson to park in th emain Church car park just off the town center and only 50 yards from the race control and start /finish line If you arrive much later (7:30) onward I'm afraid you will need to find another place to park away from the course.. I've attached some more info to this and the next couple of posts.. Again if you intend to come down and help out even if it for a few hours please let me know.. Thanks Big Dave Attachments:

Well done team SHMCC, today went extremely well and very smoothly.. Thanks to Paul, Matt and Darren the transponder fitting was completed in time and the majority of cars had nice and easy brackets fitted this year! Thankfully we only had a couple of issues to deal with during the day and my wingman Mr Longhurst was without doubt hero of the day and quickly sorted them out The event organisers were very happy with the timing and results and SHMCC will benefit from a donation to the new track fund shortly! Normal Bashley Sunday racing returns next week with Reality Racing Cup... See you all there

All, just had confirmation of a £200 donation to the SHMCC track repair fund.
I'd like to personally thank Paul, Matt, and Darren. For helping out and the organisers of the 2012 Ringwood GP for their generosity
