I propose that Sunday Club Championship and Reality Racing Cup championship meetings have an hour between races with no additonal time for lunch and that Sunday non-championship meetings have a minimumof 50 mins between races with no additonal time for lunch. (NB this is a second proposal to my original, not a replacement, taking into account some of the comments. As I read it if both get voted "in" then my original proposal would take precedence as I have deliberately said a minimum of 50 mins in this one and therefore they are not contradictory. Happy to take an amendment to 48 mins Reuben ) Bump. Looking for a second

Proposal: That the current gap of 3 minutes between 5 min race end buzzer and start of the subsequent race be extended to 6 mins.
Note: this would not in itself impact the the total length of the race day unless we hit something like 6 or 7 heats
Reason: This will provide drivers with enough time to remove and clean tyres and apply additive and remove and put battery on charge(assuming there is no desire to wait for the battery to cool)before taking up marshalling positions.
1 minute - recover to pits (race does not end at 5 mins) 1 minute - bodyshell off/ wheels off/ battery out 1 minute - clean tyres 2 minutes - apply additive 1 minute - place battery on charge/take up marshalling position

I propose control tyres for pro eco. This is a proposal, a proposal that the club do not use a control tyre for pro-eco.Sorrex 28's will just kill the class for a new driver Pro-eco should be just that! with emphasis on the Eco.Sorrex 28's are probably the most expensive tyre out there at £28 a set, this forces the newby to buy when a set of Ansman or even a handed down set, something like RP 30's,Take Off's,etc etc from another racer are just as good! But should the club "oddly" deside on control tyre in this popular ECO class I strongly recomend they wait to make a decision on the make,As there is some tyres soon to be on the market that have proven in testing to be as good as Sorrex but far far cheaper.....Good enough to be used at National level

When I proposed control tyre I was thinking a cheaper tyre that everyone could afford which would stop people being out done by sorex 28's but as I haven't raced pro Eco yet So i shouldn't really have a say!

That wasn't a knock at you Jamie .....Its just Sorrex 28s seems a contradiction on "ECO" ....A control tyre is not such a bad idea after all perhaps for some clubs.....but at a sensible price!

Regarding tyre proposal for PRO Eco. Remember this is the PRO Eco class not ECO.
I agree any tyre for Eco but as far as I am aware everyone runs Sorex 28 in Pro Eco anyway. If there is a newer tyre that is as good then fair enough but as yet we do not have that.

I am up for trying some different cheaper brands over the winter in my spare time. I used the Hpi challenge last year for one meeting and although they were not as good as sorex in stock in pro Eco I think they would be fine. Admittedly they are still £20.00 a set. I have seen that fastrax also do a slick tyre/wheel set for under a tenner so I will prob get a set of each to try out.

The other thing to remember is Bashley for me is the highest grip track I have raced at, so this will have an effect on amount of races you get out of them I would have thought. I had a set of three racing treaded tyres kicking around and run them on a practice afternoon I had recentlly and they honestly lasted 5 mins until they where through to the foam inserts.

OK so we have had a proposal for a control tyre for Pro Eco and a proposal for no control tyre for Pro Eco. Interesting. I am happy to go with whatever everyone else wants BUT.... if there is to be NO control tyre and people start to use the cheap £5 Fastrax tyres those who are staying with Sorex 28s will have (my opinion) a distinct advantage. So, you pays yer money, you makes yer choice as they say.

Yeah I agree with that Ian. And maybe not this year but it's something I may try regardless. Won't beat sorex though. I think for a control tyre to be voted in it would need a few meeting of testing before hand, so this Agm is maybe too close anyway. Next spring would be a good opportunity to test them.

So, you pays yer money, you makes yer choice as they say. The chances are only a new/young driver will perhaps use the cheap tyre and should make little difference when learning to keep the car on the black stuff ...on the other hand the experienced racer will know "wots wot"and choose a suitable Shore for the conditions .....a control tyre will alienate the young up and coming driver on a budget that has the chance to use another make/Shore donated by a faster driver from another class/meeting!......28s will not always work or have the distinct advantage,Pro-Eco is not fast enough to generate the heat required for consist ant grip on a cold or damp winters day....Ide be looking at RP 24s,CS 22's or even D20's.....IMHO control tyres are for National and regional events not a clubmans fun class

Proposal: Open class TC should have a control tyre, namely 2nd hand Sorex 32 with at least 3 full runs finished. This should be applied to Championship and RRC races. Ordinary club days can be used if necessary to prepare new Sorex 32s so that they pass scrutineering on championshiip days.
Reasoning: level playing field and keep costs down; gets me some brownie points by removing my tyre boxes from the spare bedroom.
Happy to second a supplemenatry proposal that exempts T3 '012s from this rule

I think I might have to treat myself to some new tyres at bashley, especially when you all rock up with your shiny new 012's. My proposal: No Wets in the Dry , Race director has to call a wet race before the 2 minute warning.

I propose that for mini stock the motor used is either 540 silver can or Saturn 27 turn and also have mini pro stock that would be either saturn 21 turn motor or 17.5.

I am going to be running mini indoors from now on as 12th really doesn't seem to be taking off this winter and it's seems a waste of a heat. So in short I would be up for trying pro mini and agree also on the mini motor being 27 or silver.so I will second that Jamie. I think also with the amount of minis racing we'd night (9 missing 2 regulars) there is room for another class at the club. Saying that I would be happy to run standard mini if numbers did not allow for this.

Proposal time:
I would like to propose 2 Touring car classes for outside.
Stock: 17.5 Blinky/no-timing, 27t Brushed and up to a 20t Sealed Can motor (any motor).
Open TC (anything else you can think off, 1/10th scale, so any motor with or without boost/timing)

In Open TC we have been combining previously run classes for a long time now (i.e. boosted stock, pro stock and superstock) to keep the class simple. (Which I suspect is partially why its our most popular class outdoor, as everyone can run whatever they want and there are never complaints in Open TC) I think a simple 'Stock' class would be a good idea, and not have too many different options.

I suspect this one may engender some debate so I have added a few comments to explain my thinking. I propose that the Stock class (17.5) is changed to non-timing speedos. The primary reason is the BRCA Clubmans series which for 2012 is being rebranded and made more accessible (Southern and Northern championships). The proposal is that the 17.5 class is non timing speedos. With the demise of the SLCC this is the only 17.5 class championship and bringing our stock class into line seems sensible as it would provide an easier route for our less experienced drivers who want to make the move into a "bigger" series. The proposal has been put forwarded by Bob Burr and John Robson, both known "faces" within the sport and as I understand it, it was requested by the BRCA following the faltering start of the current Clubmans championship. I say that as personally with this sponsorship I think it will get the nod at the BRCA AGM. At our club it makes the transition from the Eco classes easier in driver terms. I accept though that it then makes the jump to Open class bigger! Davide I would like to withdraw this proposal. Reuben's proposal posted today covers this and is broader by entended the class to include Pro-Eco and Eco

Open TC (anything else you can think off, 1/10th scale, so any motor with or without boost/timing) I second this too. It makes lot of sense to combine stock/Pro Eco and Eco given what seems to be a drop off in Eco/pro Eco racers in recent months and they will all enjoy themselves all the more with more people to race. As always different levels of ability will sort itself out and people will end up having their own enjoyable individual battles. I was watching Ross (non timing 17.5) and James (Pro Eco) race the other week and in terms of pure speed there was very little in it, with both turning in the best lap in the various races. The 17.5 has I think the definite advantage off the line with more torque. I will acknowledge that I have spent very little/zero time in optimising the 17.5 powertrain but I doubt it is that much off the pace so I think the speeds are pretty represenative. Importantly it gives the beginners the chance to progress and speed up their cars without suddenly finding themselves on a grid of 2. And if a 17.5 driver with a timing speedo turned off wants to try Open TC then it is just an adjustment to the speedo, nothing else, that is needed.

A 17.5 Blinky IS no match and will totaly out class a 20t sealed can in all area's!! .....A 17.5 Blinky will blow the pants of a 20t sealed motor, even a make with low fixed Can timing WILL ,Its even faster with the static timing increased and geared to suit!...The closest you will get to 17.5 Blinky is the 15t sealed Can with a decent speedo.....If SHMCC don't "open up" the Pro-Eco rules to generate some "new interest" you are seriously missing the boat!......Some Clubs call this 17.5/15t Class Sportsmans AND its extremely popular with all ability's ,including top national drivers and a world class IC driver. Ostrich's are not the only ones to bury their heads in the sand

Gents,
I've read the last few posts several times now and think Reubens Stock / Open TC post has been slightly mis-understood..
The proposal does not include or cover the current Pro-Eco or Eco..
What it does is open open up the current "stock" class to allow 27T brushed and UPTO a 20T sealed can so a 15T motor would be fine.. It also changes the 17.5 brushless to run in "blinky" mode..
I believe the idea is to broaden the current Stock class and take a litte speed and potentially cost out.. All sounds good to me, and hey might even get a few more less speed hungry / skint drivers back out on the track!

Can I propose we don't have any more proposals as I am getting very confused!
Anyway, if you can run 15 turn motor in Stock then I assume Pro-Eco (and Eco) will remain the same motor as now (21t Ansmann or 22t Maverick). Sounds OK to me but have no idea of the difference between the 17.5 brushless and the 15 turn Firebolt. Until someone tests this out it does seem difficult to make such a decision.
Now a proposal that we should all run PROPER touring car shells is a much more exciting prospect. A grid full of Alfas, Volvos, Hondas etc would excite me much more than squabbling over motors.........
anyone seen my ostrich?
