We've got a set of setup sheets for our cars for the outdoor track. But we are still new to this, so not sure which to use.
How would everyone describe the track? There are three questions
1. Is the track tight or open? 2. Grip, choices are high/medium/low. 3. Condition, smooth, bumpy or "submerged".
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Tony.

2 and 3 are easy. Medium grip and bumpy. Although even that is not true all the time. When the track has not been used for a while it can be very slippery, hot days it is usually pretty high in grip. Still bumpy though. Not sure I would describe it as tight or open, bit of both really, mainly fairly open with some tight bits.

Fun is how I'd describe it :-) although some would say challenging!

Id say it was about 50/50 tight and open, and as Ian said bumpy with medium grip.
Although summer Wednesday evenings the grip is usually pretty high

Lets hope the track has not been washed away! Hopefully it will be in nice clean condition and very grippy after all the rain we have had.

Until we have to cut the grass Ian :-)
Going to find 5 minutes this weekend to get up to Bashley to see how it's coped with the weather..

Thanks all. That narrows down which setup sheet to start with. Dave, I hope you don't come back here after visiting the track over the weekend to change the condition to "submerged"

Will nip down to the track at lunchtime today and make sure it is still there! Watch this space!

Well I have been down the track and wish I had taken my car with me! The track looks pretty much perfect, the parking field is a bit wet as you would expect and the rostrum roof has had one of the panels (end nearest race control) ripped off and it is lying in the middle of the track. Apart from that you could hold a race meeting there today with little or no problems.
It was a dry track today, no puddles anywhere, the sun was shining, blimey we should be out there racing! If the weather stays OK will go down at the weekend and tidy things up a bit. There are a few bits of rubbish lying around. If it syats dry will even try some set ups on the car maybe.
