I'm afraid Sean and I cannot make that date. Our touring cars might not pass the BRCA rules either (they are 17.5 in blinky, but not on the BRCA lists as far as I'm aware).

I plan to book in for 17.5 Blinky.
To the above, the motors do not need to be on the list as far as the rules state. It just has to be "Commercially available". What motor is it?
I plan to use my duo2 17.5 which is old now but were commercially available at the time. Dave any idea how that stands with the rules?

Really can't see much of an issue running your setups Tony, as long as the software is blinky..
if you want I'll ask Trev to confirm??

We cannot make the first round anyway so no need to ask for now.
If we can make other rounds, we've both got Tamiya Minis and Supastox which should both be ok.

Dave, can you check with Trev regarding our touring cars? I've just checked the dates, I've pencilled in all the other rounds apart from this weekend (mainly because it's mothers day).

I cannot be bothered to find it on the BRCA site (too late and I always struggle to find it anyway) but I am sure these days that BRCA does not list motors anymore (if that is what you are talking about).I think they use the term commercially available or something like that. They also used to have a maximum price but I think that was dispensed with also.

OK so looks like the thread got a little side tracked with all of the motor /ESC talk.. Waiting for Trev to confirm but I'm 99% sure ANY commercially available motor in said class is OK
Now back to the thread topic..
Who is planning on doing round one in 2 weeks time??

I have a question.
What do we gear at for 17.5 Blinky in a small hall? I have completely forgotten. I am 3.4 outside so just add 1? eg 4.4 or is it higher, eg 5?
Also do we know if they have 240v power or do we need to bring a 12v?

Hi Reubs, I'll check what my Mi1 os geared at and let you know. From memory its around 4.. There was 240v available last time we raced at Weymouth, but you will need a chair and table... Looks like just you and me for round 1 :-)

Suggest we all plant to get to the Gym at 8:30 / 9am Latest.. There are 3 quals and 2 finals but with all of the indoor classes it will be a longish day.. Not sure you will make the last final and your 6.15 match.. Don't remember there being much in the way of food available at the gym so defo bring your own to eat and share!! Probably try to sort out a convoy for those local to New Milton bit like last year leaving form outside Tesco Express detail to be discussed at Wednesdays meeting..

OK so for those who would like to arrive in convoy style I suggest a 7:15am meet up outside Tesco Express on Sunday morning.. Google is suggesting it's around 70 minutes to get to the venue from New Milton so we will arrive around 8:30 or just before..
Tables and chairs will be needed and if you want 240V I suggest a few extention leads! Pretty sure there is no or very limited food available but from memory there is a kettle for hot water..
So anyone interested in a convoy on Sunday??
