This is just for your interest.
Last Thursday I ordered 2 spare parts for my car. As my son runs the same car I thought it prudent to get a spare set and as I had broken one on my car also another spare for me. Out of interest I placed an order for the same 2 parts with seperate model shops, MB Models, DEMON and APEX. As I wanted some other parts as well I also ordered them from RC MUSHROOM just to see what would happen. Only genuine parts, Associate part numbers so all orders were effectively the same.
The DEMON order arrived Friday morning in the first post.
The MB Models order arrived Saturday morning in the first post.
The APEX order arrived this morning minus one of the parts (they do not show stock on their system so had no idea if they had them or not and delivery note shows 2 items so am awaiting contact from them)
The RC Mushroom order has been despatched on Friday so will let you know when that arrives.
OK so a message from APEX saying they did not have the second item in stock and will send it on in approx 14 days. Good job I don't need it then!

OK results are as follows (yes I know this is not a true scientific test but whatever!)
Received the RC Mushroom delivery today.
Fastest was Demon but they were also the dearest.
Second fastest was MB Models who were also second dearest.
RC Mushroom were 3rd fastest (by completing the order) they were also the cheapest by 34% (including freight charges)
Apex were the cheapest of the UK shops by some 15% but failed to complete the order and am still waiting for the second item.
So what does all this mean? Damned if I know but was interesting.
I guess if you want it urgently you need to pay for it. If you don't mind waiting a few days you can save a lot of money. However most spare parts are required fairly urgently so you first need to find a shop that has them in stock and shows them as being in stock (if in doubt call them). Then don't quibble about the price, you need to pay extra for fast service obviously.
All good fun!
