Years ago when i was just a boy racing at Bashley we used to do something a bit different at Christmas for a laugh... i.e make caravans to tow behind our cars (Blue Peter Style) ...
Just wondered if there would be any interest in doing that this year for something different? It may be a bit late in the day for that but thought id ask..
It doesn't take much to paint an old cardboard box and screw some wheels to it and to make a caravan or trailer and is a great laugh watching a track full of cars all towing a snaking falling apart caravan thing..
You can be as imaginative as you like and use lights, sounds, farm animals, even turn your car into a sleigh.. whatever tickles your fancy
Any interest?
Andy

Yeah caravan race next week then! I am sure somewhere I still have the original trophy. If I can find it (That is an if!) then will bring it with me next week.

Sorry Andrew, only just seen other post :-( Great idea though!! As Xmas and New years day fall on the Sundays I suggest a meeting at Bashley might be difficult to organise, however we do have Wednesday 28th booked in at the Memorial Centre if anyone fancies some RC Xmas fun? Why not build a cardboard caravan! Perhaps points for best finished/looking? and points for most intact at the end of the meeting? Mini, GT12 or TC could all take part

Sean used to have a caravan (from Kamtec for Mardave racing). I think he's planning on making a trailer today if he can get away from the xbox.
Given time constraints, how about some sort of roof rack? Something easy to attach to the roof with a bit of velcro? My mrs is in London to see Adam Ant, I could tape the CDs to the roof in the hope that they get destroyed.

I should have been more specific... i did mean indoor racing. It was back in the days of racing at Bashley Village Hall! I dont think me or the old man are down on the 28th unfortunately but i could prob knock something together for this Wednesday.. A roof rack or such like as suggested by Tony would be easy enough.. Its really just an excuse to have a laugh and do something different... stick a bit of tinsel and some battery powered lights on the car would be easy enough!
