Slim-fast..that one may stick better than sedge the wedge ;D ;D ;

Could I respectfully ask that we drop slim fast, or at least save it for special occasions such as poo nap or the rain dance!
I much prefer sedge the wedge!

Great day guys, thanks to all 18 of us that turned up to play in the cold mud.
Some great racing, 17.5 means through the course of the day you often end up having a little battle with more than one person, it's great!
Though they're certainly not all the same speed are they... But it seems the driver as always is the thing that makes the difference.
Lessons I learned today: check your lipo is charged, check your camber is correct...
Catapult: Brake before turning in. So dab the brake in straight line, stop braking, then turn in, then it shouldn't push wide.

No need for apologies James, you're more than welcome to come whenever, weather permitting we'll be racing Sunday, so come on down then. I've still got some spare tyres.

Yet another fun day,lots of close racing.Even Rob "might" have enjoyed the sedate 17.5 class? High lite of the day..BBQ'ed bacon saries and Gary and Pete enjoying 10th tourers Just as a mater of interest..a new set of CS22's started to grain slightly even in those cold track conditions,I prefered the Sorex 24's In field Grip was poor and a very cold day so punch not needed(less chance of reaching max temp)..I over geared the motor to gain top end and smooth out the infield grip some,thats where the speed came from Simon ..and the cars Purple ;D..I think Ian Newton done the same thing but with advanced timing,thats why he was giving Rob a good chase during the final.

I geared up too les, in these temps it's possible. I ran out of pinions though's so more needed for these crazy ratios.
I do wish spec brushless were all fixed timing! One less thing to fiddle with...

well actually me and my old brushed technology held our own yesterday, we didnt change anything the whole day, not even skimmed or brushed the motor, we changed the gearing once and then went back to wot we had, and it was still very quick... in cold weather anyway, when it warmed up i was left standing but it cooled down for the last final and boy wasnt that tense!!!!

How do you tell the difference between a brushed and brushless driver? Brushed driver is the one who stares at gear charts looking very stressed with copper dust in his eye brows Brushless driver is the one roaming round the pits relaxed,smiling,chatting and eating a bacon sarnie....

C'mon Les, the Brushless one is frowning at gear charts too, borrowing huge pinions, changing speedo punch settings, figuring out how to advance motor timing, making sure his fan is not full of leaves / mole poo and wondering where the club temp gun is (can we keep it near race control all the time please!!)...

ah I agree with that mr crabb,
though this week i just left my gearing alone and punch.... so good news is that it all ends well

I wouldn't have returned to racing if it wasn't for brushless & lipo! It's soo much easier...
