Yes ladies and gents, it's offical... there is a new Tamiya FWD mini on the way, the M05. After 10 years since the release of the first M-series R/C car, Tamiya is now releasing the latest M-05 chassis with the popular Rover Mini Cooper racing version body.
# This is a 1/10 R/C assembly kit. # Length: 315mm, Width: 167mm, Height: 135mm. # The very popular Mini Cooper Racing car comes loaded on the new M-05 chassis. # The servo, receiver, and ESC are mounted on the rear of the newly designed monocoque frame for better weight distribution and a lower center of gravity. # The 3-piece tie-rod steering linkage offers sharp cornering performance. # Sticker sheet included. # Includes 60D radial tires and silver Rover Mini Cooper wheels. # ESC and type 540 motor included. # 2-channel R/C system, battery pack & charger are separately required. # A wide variety of Option Parts for M-05 chassis machines and bodies are already available for further customization.
ELECTRIC KITS REQUIRE: (unless stated differently above)
Looks good....

There's 2 versions that are coming out first, M05 Pro (Which is the one above i think), and the Rover Mini which wont have the Blue Alu. hubs etc.
Should be good!

I want one, as soon as it comes out. The pro one, of course. Oh, will they be faster than m04? Is the gearing the same? What parts do they share?

They say that alot of the parts and hop-up will move across from the M03, the pro has the hubs and other bits and pieces from the M03R kit. I'm pretty sure that its the same gearing as the M03.

No, that's the IFS-R (was released about a year ago), the new version 2 car wont have any of the blue bits, just the standard CVA shocks and plastic parts, not carbon reinforced.
It will run the 416 style hubs and bearings sizes as well as bigger pulleys/belts. It also has the same motor mount as the TA05MS, which is abit strange really as there's less space for the electrics unless you've got low profile everything lol. Narrower chassis and moved battery position as well.
Will get one pretty soon after its released.
