I am picking up here some thoughts from Shane's post yesterday around family membership.
I think it is up to the committee to propose (if at all) changes to membership prices - you guys have ready access to the financials but with our need to re-lay the track I suspect there is little room for manouvre presently.
But the family situation is interesting. I do not take out a family membership because I do not drive and there needs to be 3 drivers to make a family membership pay. Shane I do not know if you have looked at that but it would certainly bring your costs down if you felt you would race sufficently to make it pay.
Maybe there is room for some change here guys. It is all different but if a family consists of 3 drivers then the chances are that two of those are juniors and maybe there is case for charging a bit less - it is already very expensive for the dad to pay for himself and his two children, let alone the tyres!
I suspect it would not in reality cost the club too much - might even get some more membership fees - and ultimately this is generally where the youngsters will come from I think.

...I observe, and am not sure what to take from it, that if you consider the top juniors we have had in recent years they are Dan, Craig, Simon and now Liam. Dan and Craig were/are supported by non-driving dads ie the cost for running them was/is a lot less than Shane has to find, or anybody else in a similar position.

I'm not proposing anything, just wanted to provide some food for thought. I can only assume that a family membership is a valuable commodity to the club. Given that a family when racing will generally bring 2 or 3 drivers to a race day. So when a family turns up, they ultimately will bring more money to the club than lets say, when a non family member turns up.
With that in mind and looking at the bigger picture over the course of a year (or even just a few weeks/months) a family membership is likely to bring in more revenue than a single membership, regardless of how much they pay for their annual fee. Therefore would it be more family friendly for a family membership cost the same as a single membership?? And would it actually generate more revenue in the long term?
On another note, I've always wondered if numbers would be better if racing was a fiver? No if's or but's its just a flat rate to all. But that only paid members were allowed to use the track for practice outside of race days?
Personally, I pay my membership not for the £2 discount I receive each time I race, but more for the fact that I am allowed to turn up anytime I like and have a practice..

Some good points there; got me thinking and I realise I have missed in my mind the big point. A family of say 3 even with discounted membership has to - I assume - pay 3 entrant fees each sunday One might well assume 2 of the 3 would be junior pricing none the less that is £17 each Sunday (pus tyres )
