Having released some funds I am looking at a new car.The tc6 and mi4cx fall nicely within my price range.Any thoughts on either car would be appreciated. If thats your short list Paul ...it would be the TC6 by a country mile for me. I have had and raced both on many tracks and still run the TC6 today ,The Schuy is harder to set up for the clubman, plus you may need option parts to make it work well(different chassis, top deck, steering parts, different flex wishbones, hubs etc etc),its also a well known fact that what the top schuy drivers race is not what a club driver gets in the box ...As for the TC6 its guaranteed that whats raced at top level IS what the club driver gets in his kit...Besides one of two basic set ups will work well on any track. The spares are also cheaper compared to the majority of other makes out there by as much as 50%! Example a Drive shaft is £14.50 other makes can be £30 plus...Wishbones and hubs £6 a pair other makes can be as much as £12.......And your local model shop has them on the shelf. It may well not be the fastest car out there at very top level but in my many years of experience of all makes its been a simplistic car to maintain and drive so a wise choice for any club driver.

Hi Paul. Firstly I will start with both cars are very capable - as with most chassis, and your final decision will most likely come down to what colour you prefer and what you like to look at. Out of the two, if I was in your situation, would pick the Mi4cx. I very happily owned the Mi4LP (the cx's predecessor) and I thought the car was great, Also the motor mount lends itself very well to the brushed sealed cans (as other motor mounts are hard to fit a sealed can to, due to the bushing on the front end) I know with the Xray its almost impossible to fit a sealed can without restrictive gearing or a small dremel. The Mi4 when I drove it was a very solid car and the only issue I ever had with it was the strength of the pulleys after 18 months of 13.5 and of course the notorious blades, which they fixed with the CX. The parts are also cheap. Also there are loads of ex and even current Mi4lp/cx drivers at the club with a wealth of knowledge and experience with the car, so you will never be stuck for tips and tricks (not that you need them ). The only reason I ever got rid of my schumacher was because I got bored of the colour and wanted an Xray. But the Schumacher is super easy to drive with its inherent understeer.

Not sure there is much between the two cars Paul if I am honest. I would go for the TC6 as not sure I like Schumacher but that is a personal preference and the Schumacher I use indoors is probably the best indoor car I have ever had.
The TC6 is great for me outdoors but as has been said you will need to dremel the motor mount to fit a sealed can motor. Apart from that I have had to do nothing to the car in the last 2 years. Nothing has broken or worn out (yet!) I really like the TC6 but as Reuben says it will no doubt come down to colour choice, smart blue or poncy purple! LOL

A I said Paul unlike others I have raced, owned and maintained BOTH!!...if the MI4 was any better in all respects I would still be racing one..Besides I could have got a better deal/drive with Schuy but turned it down for what I think is a far simplistic reliable car overall .....Two Bash drivers have changed from the Schuy to the TC6 and haven't looked back....Ive yet to find anyone else who has gone the other way .....Racing at regional and national level on a very regular basis you tend to hear and see the good and bad points of all makes unlike those who tend to race at home......Any way any chassis that suffers from inherent slow speed understeer ain't too good for technical tracks like Bashley, especially as corner speed is a must in the slower stock classes............I am very friendly and race regularly with some very fast current MI4 team drivers, the only reason they stick with the MI4 is because of their heavily discounted drive that includes very cheap rubber(Schuy distribute Sorex and other goodies including speedos/motors)....It certainly ain't the car ......90% would jump ship ASAP if they could get the same deal with another make!!
