Okay guys time for a thread to get the juices going.
Setting Ross’s car up just now so that Craig can run 17.5 tonight, I discovered that the servo unit was moving around – the case had broken on one side and was not attached to one of the posts.
So move the 17.5 motor over to Craig’s ‘012 and change the pinion? Nope.
17.5 blinkey needs a really high FDR compared with non blinkey setups and you can’t do it, well at least we can’t on our Xrays without changing the internal FDR, ie changing the layshaft and front and rear pulleys. Too much effort right now. So we will be coming down early to do some practice and presumably won’t be racing.
We were also coming down on Sunday but what do I do – leave it as is – or change the 012 FDR, along with some chassis changes for running stock, then only to find that there is some pro stock racing.
I really cannot be naffed with that scenario, so will be checking to see if Aldershot has any racing this weekend.
Of course for people who only run 17.5 it is not an issue at all.
This is an observation only, not a criticism – after all it was me who started the discussion prior to the AGM about adopting 17.5 blinkey for this season!!!!
Order for a replacement KO casing will be going in this evening if I can find one in stock.

A Pita?
As far as im aware you don't need to change pulleys - just a spur and a pinion. Considering the prep that goes into cragios car that is not a massive ask. But i will say its a bugger compared to my old mi4s.
Whatever you decide to do - i hope you have a nice day of racing on sunday..

Hi Martin, what spur and pinion combination do you use on your XRAY for 17.5 blinkey - I assume you have an IR of 1.9? I can get to 3.61 on Ross's car but that is setup with 1.77 IR.
