Yep was a good meeting and some VERY close racing! Thanks to James for some great fun in our races. Looks like the old 15 turn Firebolt is going to have to be replaced with a blinky 17.5 if I am to get that extra lap back. Almost exactly one lap faster at the end.
Good to be racing with Jeff again. Still as fast as ever I see.
Last race the car fell to bits, typical TC6 the screws are always dropping out just had to be the wishbone mounts so handling was a little compromised!!!
Will be up for next round hopefully with a more competitive car.
Was really nice to also have some great banter and mickey taking during the day. A really good atmosphere, very relaxed and everyone having FUN yes that' it the F word. Only available at SHMCC.

It was good to come back. I now have to find someone with a stock of brushes as the cyclone wont allow me to get the right ratio for 17. but the last final showed i had the straightline speed even if it was undergeared by a couple of teeth just need to sort the loose rear end i had in the last two finals

Agreed.. Stock racing is awesome.. Where it lacks in the excitement of running a fast motor, it certainly makes up for it with the buzz you get from the closeness of the racing. I'm keen to continue running this class too. is,nt this the "fun" speed class that was suggested some while back Ginge oh ps..nice to see "some" of you are all enjoying a sensible speed class!!

An interestingly almost third person post? The speeds are definitely slower and makes close racing available to all abilities and closes the ability/lap-time gap between the fastest and slowest drivers. Which is a GOOD thing I think. and as Ian suggested, it was voted in at the AGM and has been running ever since. Im surprised you havent come down to join in? you must have improved a fair bit racing with the top drivers? might even give me a run for my money with your "fun" class experience?

Third party? what are you assuming? its about time the club cotton'ed on to proper speeds but you took your time. Actually rueben Top racers who include national champs have been extremely help full and good fun!!! i just wonder if you could "cut the mustard " with them and show them how to do it? rather than boasting lol, unlike some I realise my limitations so too me its not about whos faster than who it IS about fun,and not been a "one track wonder" Ginge p.s Voted at the agm? thats very odd? i ssem to rember some posts well after the agm about a 13.5 blinky and even a desensored 13.5 been an equall to 15t brushed ....even my little fun class experienced mind was totaly confused

I do not assume anything, it just wasnt like the old Darren I once knew to post such a un-costructive and stirring post. and I have never professed to be a "Top" racer or whatever constitutes a "Top" level racer. I just like to race with anyone and everyone, in any class. And I will never be (in your eyes) a top level racer.... but opinions are opinions, respected or not

i dont think reuben was boasting - but i would like to - come and have a crack at me on circuit ginge would be interesting to see us go together - last time i saw you race at the cotsworlds in 2011 you looked pretty darn hooked up, and as an Uber special Brucie bonus i believe the next meeting is free I will even let you pick what class

LOL I feel a lot better now, I was concerned I was starting to agree with everything . I think it is fine for club meetings. But I think it is very wrong for championship meetings. What chance have the lesser mortals got if all the top drivers contest Stock? As far as I am concerned you should contest Open and give the beginners and youngsters (and ex chargers)a chance of winning a trophy. No doubt I will get flamed but why is it some of you seem to think you cannot have fun (indeed more fun) and close racing with a faster car. There used to be half a dozen 19T racers who would navigate the track with a handful of seconds between them all, boy was it exciting.

Pete could it not be that our "small bumpy" track is not so suited to those high speeds that other tracks seem to like or could it be that the amount of people who regularly turn up is not enough for a class of those higher speeds?
Whatever the reason it IS great fun and certainly not THAT slow in the all new, apparently just introduced, stock class! I have no problem whatsoever with ANYONE turning up and wanting to have FUN in the stock class. They may all be MUCH better and faster than me but as long as they are enjoying themselves it is fine and it also gives me something to aim for and whinge and moan about!!!!!
Oh by the way Ginge, your spelling is getting terrible! :-)
LOL. Get yourself a car and have ago Pete, you may just enjoy it!

I would agree with ian in that the track is too small and very bumpy for the overpowered quicker cars the stock class was perfectly suited to the track in its current condition. maybe when its nearer the time to resurface a longer layout incorparating full length back straight, using the bottom of the field as no one pits there, could be considered. I dont know whats "gone on" in the last couple of years between people but all this "bitching" is very off putting to anyone reading it and isnt doing the HOBBY any good regardless of what club you race for/ go to.

Jeff if you struggle with the 17.5 gearing thing and are serious about the 27 turn old school then you know I have 2 very quick stock motors and a supply of brushes you are more than welcome to use just let me know.

Sorry everyone for having to (again) be the forum police.. But trolling under someone elses username is the lowest of the low.. If you have an opinion please have the decency to register and post under your own name..
