Well, it has got to that point that I may well be getting a second car... I'm sure this will have a multitude of opinions, but I currently have a shortlist of: Xray T4 '14 Yokomo BD7 Tamiya TRF 418 Schumacher Mi5 Pretty sure they will be the main candidates... Chuck us your thoughts - If my entry is accepted into the Autosport show then it'll be bought in time for that, probably with a nice new reventon speedo and reedy sonic 13.5

I know someone who can get 15% off the Yoke, so that may be the deciding factor, especially as its the cheaper of the 4 anyway...

Well I think it's time for me to get a new car for this year as well. Unlike you though I am heading more towards the T6.2. Tamiya is far too expensive, don't particularly like Schumacher allthough the Mi5 appears to be quite good. Maybe the Tamiya TB04 Pro as an alternative or even the Awesomatrix. Still like the Team Magic Evo 2 as well but I reckon a new one of those is on it's way shortly.
Have not had an X Ray for quite a number of years and not sure I want to go that route.Just a mind thing rather than any practical reason.
The BD7 2014 looks good but is more expensive. The TC6.2 has the advantage of me having lots of bits that will fit it as running the TC6.1 Worlds at the moment.
Going to run it indoors tonight as could be my indoor car when the new one arrives!

Actually, even though the last 2 issues of RC Car Racer have featured full page adverts for the Tamiya TB04 PRO (January and February editions)after a brief (very!) phone call to the Hobby Co (Tamiya importers) they tell me it is no longer available! Perhaps they just like spending money on adverts regardless of whether they can supply or not. d**n stupid if you ask me but what do I know. Anyway that one is out of the reckoning.

My 418 is now in stock! I got it for £400 with a free set of wishbones, uprights, soft and hard springs and roll bars... So actually on par price-wise with the t4 counting the spares as at least £50...
Also worth looking at the team Durango car - it's looking like it'll finally be released shortly, and Elliot Harper has been very quick with it!

Yeah but Elliot Harper would be quick with any car. At least a lot quicker than me! I saw the Durango was due for release soon but I reckon that would mean a whole new raft of spares whereas the TC6.2 would fit in quite nicely.
Hey ho all good fun. Will have to wait and see if it is really worth the wait I suspect or I might be kicking myself.

Well after much looking around and comparing notes it looks like it could be a new Yokomo BD7 for me. Trying to get the sexy looking "Black" edition but not having much luck yet.

Thanks for that. MB tend to be quite expensive though. I have found the same kit at £50 less than that. However, and even more importantly, at least to me. The Yokomo does NOT come with the floating servo mount as shown in all the pictures. That is a £30 extra! A little peeved about that so have decided against it especially after I was told there is already and upgrade package for it with all the "Team" parts in. Hate it when they do that.
So back to getting the best deal on the TC6.2.........although someone said the ARC R10 is a very good car.....I could go on like this for months!

Yokomo annoy me with their whole attitude of "you gotta buy this, and then this and then this" when you have already forked out nigh on £400 on a kit.
ARC R10 2013 VBC Wildfire d06 TC6.2
if you have spares already id go for the tc6.2 all comes down to what colour anodizing you like to be honest

Ive just got an mi5 to replace the tc6, in my opinion quality wise the mi5 is far superior!
Yet to run it, but the design was one of the main things that swayed me

Well unfortunately I just don't like Schumacher cars. I am sure there is nothing wrong with them but just don't like them. I have heard the Mi5 is a good car for some but have also heard it is a bit fragile. Then you hear all sorts of stories about every car so you have to take it as you find it.
TC6.2 is looking likely now but still fancy the all black BD7 just cannot get my head around having to buy extra bits on top of the kit, these days that is just not on!
Anyway am maybe going to put it on hold for a short while as might have to have yet another op on my hand which will put me out of action for a while so no desperate need to get a new kit. If I wait a while there may be something even newer out!
Went to APEX models at the weekend for a trip out and was sadly dissapointed. The shop was a shambles (they have recently taken over JE Models) stuff was everywhere and you could not look at anything. It is a very small shop space anyway but usually lots on display. The guy behind the counter, when asked about touring cars told me he knew nothing about them but could sell me a set of tyre warmers if I wanted. After a 70 mile trip I expected a bit more than that. Asked about the TC6.2 and was told they did not have any. Hey ho a wasted trip I will NOT be repeating.
So more surfing and research for a while I guess and watching what other people are doing with their new cars. Plenty of time though..

Fair enough!
Apex/JE's online service is pretty good, shame the actual shop isn't the same!
Sounds to me like the durango could be an option.... should it ever actually be released!

Strange Paul as I have purchased lots of stuff online from them and not had any problems. They have always been fast and accurate that is why I went to the shop. Have to admit the shop was a let down though.

On the other hand I have ordered some parts from Wheelspin Models last week, primarily as they seemed to be the only people that had them in stock, but ordered them last Thursday, paid the extra freight costs (£6.95) to have them delivered next day and having chased them up today as the parts have not arrived, have been told they are sending them out today! So next day delivery means wait 6 days and pay a premium? One feels they are extracting the urine!
Are there no decent model shops left?

Have to say I have not had any delivery problems when using DEMON, Nick Adams is also pretty fast at coming back to you if you ask anything. Unlike some as have sent e mails to 2 different model shops last week and not had any response.
Spoke to Wheelspin again last night as they asked me where I wanted my order sent to and I requested they send it to my work. However the notification from DPD says it has been sent to my home. Was not impressed. Have now got DPD to re-arrange it but should not have had to.
They have also informed me that items marked on their website as "shadow" stock means they do not have them in stock at their shop but can draw them in from some other store which means the delivery will be an extra few days. So paying for a next day delivery on things you buy marked "shadow" stock will be a waste of money. Yes it does explain in the small print if you want to go and find it so it seems it was my fault for not reading everything before I ordered it. Still not impressed though.
