So it would appear that battery C rating has now hit high c ratings. In comparision to when we thought that anything over 40c was excessive, do these extra C's bring much to the table or is it just companies labeling bigger numbers to make money?
Do the extra C's = more power in laptimes

Some C ratings are bogus, if you are running mod then its the maH you want over C, higher C ratings with a good speedo in blinky however will demonstrate more punch.

Interesting topic guys..
I'm not convinced you would really notice much improvement in Stock TC if you advanced over 40 / 50C.. Typically both my Stock TC cars will draw between 1250 / 1500mA for a 5 minute race.. So not much current draw at all.. If you have say a 6000mAh 80C battery that should be capable of dumping 480A! I very much doubt the wiring to the ESC and from the ESC to the motor is capable of handling anyhere near that sort of current.. Take a look at the size of cable on your real car battery / starter motor, thats only good for 50 - 60A when you first start you car up.. Are those thin ESC wires really going to handle 480A even for a split second???
What I have found and others to is the stability of the chemistry with the cutting edge higher capactiy and C rated batteries with even the best cared for high end packs starting the "puff" etc.. While the old 40 & 50C packs seem to take the normal eveyday abuse much better..
Just my 2p worth

I agree Dave, I had 2 x 7200 80C cells with the 5mm connectors and they had puffed early into their life (albeit on a hot day indoors but no one else I know had the issue)... I have since used MooreSpeed 5600 50C cells that have been great, and at £45 a pack and BRCA legal they're a bargain!

That is an observation not a recommendation!

Lucky man Pete :-) Missed you guys at RRC today :-( Team Campbell a fair weather crew now? :-) :-) LOL Dave, definitely a fair weather team these days. I sat glued to the BBC site 6.45 - 7:15 waiting for an update from the 5:15 update - looking at the glorious sun outside. When it. came, no change, heavy showers from 11am for 5 or 6 hours. So I aborted and put the bacon on . At 11am precisely it poured down, for about 30 seconds. Just after 12 it poured hail, where did that come from!, but only for a couple of mins. That was it; so it looks like I made a bum call.

Andrew and I use these from Demon. About £55 I seem to remember. IP CC2S6000SV1 SHV 100C LiPo 2S (7.4V)
We have a mix of 100C and 90C but I cannot tell the difference running 17.5 blinky. Have had them over a year now and are still perfect.
However we have some "older" cells of indiscrimiate age and use, Reedy etc and they are no where near as good in the car as the Intellect ones. Not nearly as much punch for sure.
Bonkers?

I only use Orca 6000 75c £47 they seem to do the job in Mod or Blinky.
