Thanks Paul. 2 Volitions on their way to me. One for me and one for Andrew. So looking forward to this, should be a real fun class!

Looks fast enough with a 2 cell li-po! Only thing I can see that might be a small issue is the battery strap might cover the terminal holes on a "standard" TC pack.. Hacksaw anyone?

Looked a lot at the Volition and was a bit worried it would not take a standard 7.4v Lipo. While the pack looks like it would fit the car is geared for the 8.4v hump pack so not sure how it would perform. I know the ECX would be slower but changing it to 17.5 brushless should be easy. Hmmm have to think a bit more on this. Not actually placed my order yet so might look around for a second hand one to start with. I think the gearing would be similar between the hump pack and a 2s lipo Ian.. Hump pack would start out at around 9.8v but would die quicker and weigh more than a lipo which starts a 8.4v but should hold on longer depending on capacity..

Oh am sure we can fix it!
It will not be about speed I feel being only RWD.

Just need to build some jumps :-)
Anyone around on the 25th for a get together? maybe not a full on meeting but a couple of hours of shake down?

Hi Steve, Which one? electrics for the touring car or Short Course Truck?? I think most of us have gone for the Helion Volition 2WD RTR model which is around £115 from the Web..

I'd think those ramps would be too tricky to hit cleanly (possibly resulting in car cartwheels).
The two lads who run trucks on a Monday evening at Bransgore use some really small ramps. Just some ply raised about 4in off the ground. Sean has a couple we can bring along (but unfortunately not on the 25th (a visit to Southampton Model Railway exhibition for my youngest).

Ideally you would want one that could fit more than one car on width wise i would have thought?

Thanks for the feedback I'll leave them for the moment, agreed jumps wide enough for two + cars would be great, but I also think single width jumps would also add some spice!

Great pictures Andrew! I'm actually looking forward to trying to keep these beasts on the tarmac! Although designed for off road, the challenge will be to keep them on the black stuff as much as possible :-)

Should not be too difficult to make some jumps. Maybe a good one for the main straight and a double for somewhere else. Maybe a slight change of track to include a bit of off roading? Cutting a corner somewhere maybe.
It will not be easy to take one of these trucks around the track quickly and stay online. Have tried it before with other trucks and trying to go fast is not easy but huge amounts of fun.

I recon a decent jump on the straight, a double over on the back straight just before the hairpin (Like it was when it was the off road layout back in the day). We could easily incorporate an off road section out to the right of the track, So off the table top section out on some sort of off road section coming back onto the main straight.

Mine arrived Tuesday. It would be worth checking the gear mesh as mine was on the tight side.Loads of torque.reading reviews this is overscale hence the size.
