As we are going to be racing indoors in a couple of weeks time, I thought I'd start to get my T4 ready!
So whats the best 17.5t motor out there with good acceleration (for blinky)? I guess top speed isn't important indoors but some umph out the corners is. (It must be BRCA legal). Revtech 24k? D4?
And same goes for the ESC (for blinky). Don't want to spend a bomb here but something a bit better than my 60A Quicrun ESC to get some more umph woud be good.
Also what FDR is recommended for indoor carpet racing?
Quite looking forward to some indoor racing!! Joe

I notice that if you go to buy one of these it is listed at £56.79 (UK Warehouse)but when you actually get to pay it is £58.91. Apparently they list the UK sterling price but charge you in US dollars and then you get the currect exchange rate. Is that a con? Maybe just a bit of misrepresentation?
Yes it is still a bargain but interesting. I have asked them why but not holding my breath for an answer.
The best 17.5 combo I know of is the one thats in the car in front of me (so pretty much anything will do!)

George has one of those track star combos in his car. They are good for the money!
Is it worth upgrading to a 24k etc? Or shall I just stick with my g force motor and 60a ESC?
And whilst I'm here... What tyres will I need for indoors at SHMCC?

Sorex 28's are the tyres of choice with a good indoor traction compound.. Nosram or the Shumacher stuff works well.. I'd stick with yr out door ESC & motor for the moment Joe maybe invest in a fan for the motor (assume your ESC already has one?) Just let you run a lower FDR.. Speaking of FDR I can't remember what I run, it's been so long since I changed it indoors!! I'm sure Paul or Ian will remember

Joe, Youll want Sorex 28s with the black insert for indoors. Failing that 28s with blue inserts. Yellow is really outdoors only. demonpowerproducts.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=8732The what motor, what esc thing has been asked countless times and really it just depends how deep your pockets are and what you want to achieve. Ive ran my LRP flow works since i started up again and not once have i ever had a problem with it, its still a common choice of the pros i believe and with it having a motor limit of down to 3.5 turns it will suit any class you may want to try. If you read some reviews on it you can make up your own mind. It does everything by 2 buttons and a sequence of flashing lights so no need to buy a stupid programme box with it either! Granted its not the cheapest but its d**n good and reliable. I picked mine up second hand for £70. As for the motor thing.. I ran the Killshot for a year or so with no problems which is the 24Ks predecessor and was a great motor. I then switched to the D4 and in comparison to the 24K that the old man has theres not a lot in it. The only noticeable difference is the 24k runs quite a bit hotter than the D4. Im guessing its something to do with the design but its just as quick it just gets warmer as did the killshot previously. Personally Id choose the D4 over the 24K just for that reason but realistically whichever one i could get cheaper would do! My 2 pence worth anyway. Andy

Thanks for all your help everyone.
I'll stick with what I've got for the first few rounds but no doubt I'll upgrade later anyway knowing what I'm like. LRP seems to be on all the set up sheets, might be a good investment (once I can afford it). Start my apprenticeship Monday!
Got some of those super cheap RCmart cooling fans, they look good!
