Non-Xray driver - frantically peruses the setup manual to try and find some inspiration to make the car easier to drive and go faster (why is that brushed motor ripping the pants off me). That of course is assuming there is time cos normally he wil be frantically searching through his boxes for a spare part to replace the one that just broke.
Xray driver - polisesd his bodyshell to a fine sheen. ;D

Xray driver has to polish body to keep it in top condition as he can't afford a new one for another year after buying ECS drive 'axles'.

cyclone drivers have SO much time left after briefly viewing the manual, polishing they shells / purple bits. That they can even look in the dictionary know that Polished isnt spelt polisesd in before dan's corrections.

It would appear to me that X Ray drivers are constantly having to justify to others why they bought said car in the first place. Even down to starting threads about it.
While others are just happy to take the mick out of them while constantly winning the races....... ;D

Xray Driver - Sit's at his pit table and wonders why oh why did they do the anodizing that colour....
Other drivers - bask in their blue and purple glory...

It looks gorgeous Ed although I will admit I have not seen it yet. Personally I don't go for the Lawrence Llewellyn-Bowen nancy type colours, but each to his own Xray driver - at least you don't have to keep your butt against the wall when talking to him

I saw a 009 last Friday, I quite liked the colour, it's quite classy really.
But then, you all know I'm a closet Xray fan... orange goes well with blue...

I quite like the Orange myself aswell, would like to see one in the flesh.. Orange is a hard colour to get right as it could look REALLY good or like rusty metal.

You never know might end up with an Xray next year - gold scythe plus red scythe equals orange xray maybe??

Would you buy beautiful bling car befor buying a ugly but known to be slightly faster make???

And you can get a Team Xray tee shirt in orange OR if you are feeling nostalgic about your old car, get a Team Xray tee shirt in blue

And it's alright Les, I've got the best of both worlds... it's looks the best, and is the fastest too... World Champ anyone?

Ill give you that Ed,It is a "pretty boy car" ...But is it good for the likes of us,the clubman??..I beg to differ on that point Pete, no I dont think the 008 is ugly, just a tricky to set up compared to my Cyclone and it has some issues too..now if you want to see an over engineered ugly car look at a Shuey What makes a good car for me?...ease of set up,stable speed, reliability, simple to work on and available parts...Bling is the last thing on my list..

No I know Les; Just wanted to stress that the 008 is beautiful as againt driving a rusty 009 I wonder if you can upgrade an 009 to 008 silver? Not sure becuase the 009 hqs the ability to relocate the engine and change front/rear balance, which suggest to me a different superstructure at the rear?

Good luck with the 09 if you get one ,It just seems to me the extra ajustments just confuse and make a tricky car to set up worse for the "Mr average" clubman....back to the finickity 07???

No such ideas at the moment Les. Current plan is to run the 008s with ECS and less rotating mass at the rear.

Now is your chance to have a cyclone that is not purple. see Ebay tinyurl.com/6b8g8uIts a Cyclone Surikarn Edition. The same geometry as the Andy Moore WC edition but anodised blue. That'd confuse the Tamiya boys.

The Cyclones had the same susspention/chassis format for the past 3plus years and still ranked high in the worlds ...simplisity speakes for its self ...As Ed says K.I.S

Well if everything is the same as the 008 what exactly is the point in changing? Oh apart from wanting an orange chassis.
