As the title outlines whats the difference for the extra ££?? is it worth it?? I've just stripped one of each and was quite suprised by the differences. Standard parts on worlds that do not come as standard on the TC: Titanium coated Hinge pins (4 x short + 4 x long) Anodised Aluminium bearing carriers/belt tensioners Anodised Aluminium shock spring retainers Anodised Aluminium shock fixing posts Anodised Aluminium servo mounts Etc. I'll admit these aren't really performance enhancing parts but they look good The TC has plenty of upgraded parts though, infact pretty much every part has been upgraded. Lower shock towers stronger and better looking wishbones much better and stronger drive shafts larger center pulleys front oneway/spool gizmo flexy carbon rear brace improved top brace and chassis (extra posts can be added to stiffen the chassis) Better adjustment on sway bars Etc. Personally if I was on a budget the worlds would definately be my car of choice, however if I was feeling sassy I would hesitate to get the TC. It's a money issue really, The TC is a better car, not that much better but enough to make me buy one over the worlds. the TC does has a few lower spec parts than the worlds but then it's always nice to have a few things left to put on it

I'm confused, one would think the 'Worlds' edition of any car would be the best car you can get, but you're saying the TC is better?
Maybe I shouldn't have said that, someone will now dissect Tamiya's equally bizarre naming system...

LOL ;D The worlds was indeed the best car you could buy........in 2006. The TC is the 2008 version you see.... evolution ;D ;D ;D

Ah i see Keith i like Simon was under the impression that the worlds was replaced like the tc and because it was branded the worlds pound for pound the worlds would be better. I didnt realize the worlds was not upgraded in 08" like the tc. I see i see i see interesting. Its been playing on my mind for ages just out of interest and now i have seen the light and am confused no more.
Thanks

Geometrically they are near enough identical, cosmetically slightly different, subtle differences here and there are supposed to make a handling change but for the club driver like us I doubt if we would notice any advantage?...A good Worlds edition at the right price would be a bargain and can be easily up graded to TC spec...both cars are tough, easy to work on,basically simple to set up (per track) and spares are readily available

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is much difference at all. I mean, the only difference I can tell is the cosmetic one's and even then it's hard to tell. I think if you had a brand new World's and a brand new TC, then you might notice the difference. But I have a Hara Edition which I think is an upgraded Worlds which is closer matched to the TC in some respects. However, my point is...
Does any one actually build it out of the box and leave it that way??
I doubt it. People are always changing parts and "Upgrading components", therefore the difference between the cars is not in the name, because in reality I think we all have different cars. And what might work well for someone, might not be so great for someone else.
I am new to this, but have done quite a bit of research into it all now and from what I gather that's how I see it.

The main difference is the internal ratio (TC beter for brushless) the TC pro diff is an advantage too along with a "more Flexi" chassis due to the new top deck and composite rear brace (better grip on low grip tracks) Both cars have different set up's (out of the box) why I dont Know but they both seem to work reasonably well, but both cars nomaly end up with a certain " base set up" that is not too far from box standard. As for differing cars ,we all have our own preferences with subtle changes to set up to suit our own styles..steering been the main "personal" feel

Hi Jason The worlds edition we are reffering too is the Andy Moore Worlds edition, it's actually an upgraded Hara edition with some Andy Moore hop-ups. The Andy Moore worlds edition does come with every hop-up known to man, there's nothing Moore you can put on it (oh that was a bad pun, apologies). So I think most people do just build it from the box and leave it.
