wOULDN'T DISAGREE WITH THAT Les ;D;) Just wanted to make the point that an 008 out of the box will give you 19 laps with a 27T and no doubt 20 with a 17.5 ie you dont need to spend time tuning it for Bashley and the expertise to be able to do that. The only part I have had to replace on a "regular" basis is the main belt but I assume that applies to most cars? Plus 1 rear hub due to exploded bearing; diff redo every 6-9 months. Front bumper every 24 months. Drive shaft tabs I suppose about each 3-4 months and I suppose 4 or 5 steering arms over 24 months where a screw hole has stripped. Is that fragile . Even my ECS drives have now gone 5 meetings and 1 Saturday afternoon without issue after I rebuilt them properly ;D My last seasons race car is still strong, apart from replacing Bearings and diff rebuilds nothing drasticaly needs replacing,Im still on my original drive shafts too......and shocks ;D ;D ;D...thats a pretty tough car in my book especialy with 10.5 pace and wear Looking forward to Aldershot Pete?..I am,see you there chap..regards Les

I would strongly advise against the sprint 2 flux. I had a sprint 2, great for car park bashing but you are soon looking for what a proper race chassis can deliver. mine lasted 2 months before i brought a cyclone! plus that particular model is MASSIVELY over priced compared to other chassis you can get.

I'm also selling a Hpi pro4 and almost another complete one as spares was good enough to get me into the B final at Chippenham Carpet Nationals asking £70 for the two including a body and tyres, just gotta add your radio gear and motor... They're a decent place to start and in the right hands can be very very fast, still no pressure, I'll stick them in the boot for you to look at tomorrow, I'm race director, i'll be in the caravan or rushing around Matt

with computers yes , alot of new wireless stuff is 2.4ghz , ill replace the aerial as a matter of course but it would work fine without it if you read spektrums manual it also says this at the price i was willing to take a chance on it spektrum kit is supposed to be very good afaik

I think you'll find that relates to the Receiver antenna which can be shortened,
Still seems like you know what you're talking about, you can teach us lot a thing or two!

well i was hoping you guys teach me about rc cars hehe , im pretty good with most technical stuff , but a relative n00b with regards to the cars themselfs , the recievers i understand a bit more as there no different to nitro ones and 2.4ghz technology is abundunt in alot of things these days. id imagine no aerial will have a slight diminishing range on the car but given the distance there designed to work at (there aircraft ones especially) you wouldnt notice tbh. when i read it was missing aerial i just did a bit of searching and found you could get complete replacement anyway so took the risk.

Unfortunatly James has to move house there for the reason for selling up...James's for sale car is top notch he was to the piont of paranoia about its upkeep especialy when it come to scratching the chassis...bloody shame he's moving

you may want to start with the standard asphalt setup in the cyclone manual with a 6mm ride height and 4mm front droop, 2 - 3mm rear droop.
That should give you a good starting point for your first run.... then im sure we can get you a setup that will help.

i was just looking at the SLCC 09 signup , most of the slots are gone and theres a reserve list , hows that work? they get you to pay to not participate? surely there should be no limit to entrys? only 20 places on stock?

Hi

the limit to entries is purely because of the time factor. Aldershot didnt finnish to 6.30 and that was constant from 10 till 6.30 with a 20 min lunch break. Most people also pay on the day also so if your on reserve you dont have to pay then and there. 20 places in stock because 17.5 isnt well raced in the uk yet and we are one of the first clubs racing it (off of our own back). so wont be that popular. Ian did a great thing on class numbers for the slcc. With them being a mixture of what are the current popular classes in the UK as well as securing the future for younger and new racers in the hobby with a slower more manageable class. Lets hope it gets noticed by the right people

Hi Darren, The SLCC and STCC are quite popular and have filled up quite well this year, so early entry is important if you want to do the full series. Saying that tho i think its free to go on the reserve list for the SLCC so get your name down. Don't forget club racing is going to be challenging enough to start with so just get your name down for SLCC and STCC at Bashley and then get losts of practice at club meets. They have to limit the number of entries or they'd never get the racing done in a day. three rounds of quilifying and then two of finals still takes about 6 hours!
