Hi guys, when you read in the setup books etc "more steering", what does this actually mean? I am trying to differentiate between responsiveness and rotation. I need to get Craig's car to rotate more through the middle of the corner. Is this what "more steering means?

More steering, hmm, that's a good generic term isn't it!
I usually use it to mean more turn in, but I guess I also mean use it to mean more exit steering too!
( I've yet to figure out mid-corner anything, my brain joins up corner entry and corner exit, I've not yet figured out what's in-between! )

I was suffering from this sunday. the rear of the car didnt want to follow the front through the corner.. Initial turn was fine, but mid-corner to exit steering was poor.
I was offered some advice on this. Which both worked to produce a car that was faster to corner.
I removed the rear spacers & dropped the rear inner camber links so they were 1mm lower than the front. Which worked. However my car is still "rolling" and to much weight is being shifted through the corner - thats something I plan to cure wednesday.

Reubes I ran that recently it worked OK - however I found as grip went the rear got looser and looser, I went back to original settings shortly afterwards..
I'm no setup expert, although i've found it confuses me if i look in more than one place for the answer.. sigh...

I need to get Craig's car to rotate more through the middle of the corner. Is this what "more steering means? Different terminology's Pete? More steering "response" to me means more initial bite into a corner off power but also includes power on and high speed steering. Rotation to me means too carry good corner speed with out any correction (fighting the car) The steered wheel angle is not following the radius of the corner correctly,"scrub steering" ie:to get the car to turn in normally followed by mid corner understeer with mid power then power on oversteer on the way out...Is this what you mean???....Cyclones suffer this a bit ;D If this is any help...flex settings I found to be quite critical on the Xray for good corner speed...too soft "flexi" and the car had loads of grip but bogged out and scrubbed off speed in fast grippy corners..try stiffening the chassis but drop a spring weight to compensate....This seemed to work at Aldershot for a nameless Xray driver who pinched my HPI silvers to use all round ...I think silvers sit between 26 and 24's??
