A dodgy subject but someone has to take it on.
As a constant spectator maybe I "see" this more than most. Yet again today races were started without marshall's on their post. There was one where 3 maybe 4 marshalls were not at their post when the race started.
This of course is unfair to the other drivers. If you go off on the first lap then that is your race scuppered if you are by an unmanned post.
We have been to clubs where the race director will pull the start if marshalls are not on post at the 30sec or 10sec mark(can't remember which) There is even one club with the (possibly) draconian rule that any driver not on station forfeits FTD. ni idea if they actually impose this in reality.
Or have we reached the point where racing at Bashley is only for fun and therefore it doesn't matter? Perhaps that is why visiting drivers don't participate in RRC any more.
Maybe the committee could consider extending the inter-race break from 2 minute to 4 minutes.
Also the loudspeaker has either been turned down or is failing because today it was difficult to hear the announcements - and that was said by Craig so it has nothing to do with my hearing althogh I quite agree. That doesn't help with marshalling. Maybe there should be a loud announcement at the 1 minute mark reminding marshalls to get on station?

I even struggled to hear the speaker on the rostrum last time i raced on sunday let alone for marshalling even though there was a slightly loud genny which did'nt help.

The sound at our track is an issue.. Mr Keffen, who owns the land lives close quite close by.. all of our directional horns face towards his house.. both at his front door and in his back garden the beeps can be clearly heard.. this for him over a 6 hour racing day can for obvious reasons cause some annoyance...
One of the track work day tasks is to relocate one or two horns to the far end of the feild facing towards the track, this should distrobut the noise more evenly accross our pitting area... However until this work is completed, the volume will have to stay low.. in the interests of "family" relations between us and the land owners.. it has to be said the volume nearer the cabin is obviously better so if at all possible lets get as many cars into the field, as close to the cabin as we can.

The timer is set currently I think on 2:30 which gives enough time for me to finish my heat, walk back to my table. take the body off and charge the LiPo again. I'm not the best out there at getting out on time all of the time... however I did hear a member telling a junior off for not being on post in time.. and then promptly run across the track on the 10 second beepers for my heat.. I think the key here is consideration? Be the marshal you'd expect to have marshalling your race. This is something that we can bring up at the next drivers briefing along with the etiquette. Both posts will be locked shortly Matt On behalf of SHMCC

Matt no-one does it on purpose. Master C-hubs went off to the farm shop when he should have been marshalling and I normally try to make sure, especially with Ross, that they don't get distracted - but I was in the middle of a presurrised setup fixr.
I was jusy hoping perhaps something a bit more pro-active could be done. Maybe we should wait and see how drivers breifing reminder works.
