We carried out a back to back Lipo test at the weekend
5300 40C 20/310 14.78 5000 35C 20/308 14.82
The only difference in the 2nd run was tyres on their 4th race (as against 3rd) and onset of hayfever half way through
Timings and subjective conclusion is that at Bashley at least, stuff all difference so the extra £14 not worth it.

Just for information, the GM speedo i run can data log the peak max amps used during a race and then it can be called up on the PC afterwards. So my findings with a 13.5t are the peak maximum amps at any one time during the race are no more than 50amps, so these new 40c cells IMO with stock motors are way OTT. 3800 30c = 114amps even that's over twice what you will draw from it. Sorry Pete i haven't run a 10.5 yet so i don't know what the max current used is on a 10.5 but i doubt if its any way near the limit of even a 3800 30C!

I am glad to say I know nothing about electicity Martin ;D What affects amperage draw(does such a phrase mean anything?) torque or revs?

Current draw maybe?

One thing you don't see talked about with LiPo is internal resistance. Perhaps the higher capacity and high C ratings are linked to a lower internal resistance?
That would mean a lower current draw, increased efficiency, and more power to the speedo / motor.

Is it so low that it doesn't matter much? One thing though if a Lipo had a high internal resistance would it not come of the track hot after 5mins of racing?
