I must say I am totally impressed with the STCC electronic setup. The detail of the published results is excellent and the wireless real time lap monitoring is awesome(if only my laptop battery would last that long)
I wonder if we could invest in this? I am think thinking really of the reporting side - cut a paste individual lap times from the club website to your own PC for analysis. Get an instant view of how the race went from the graphs.
It may well be that the software is not for sale or just too expensive for us.
Looking to the future , or is it here already? (no doubt Newtonian would know). The idea DURING PRACTICE of modifying your ESC settings on the fly based on the lap times displayed on your laptop and the engine temperature from your monitoring gauges is mouth watering.
Couple that with an electronic score board and we would just be the bees knees ;D

I was looking out of my own interest in the software for lap timing. bbkrc looked like it covered most of this.
However licences for these (eg 3 years updates) range between £500 for the cheap and £800 for the full... couple that with a 4 figure score board and we are talking BIG! money!
I dont think that cost is beneficial for its gain??
Unless theres some other software out there somewhere that covers this at a greatly reduced price?

Plenty of gain to be had Reubs. We will need to take half second off our lap times once you take the plunge and move to 10.5 ;D
And you can tape a PDA to your transmitter and see the lap times as you go round (in the absence of an electronic scoreboard of course ;D)

BTW Reubs you don't NEED the expensive scoreboard. Give it a couple of years and laptops will be cheaper than XRAY ECS drives and everyone will have one . Even better you will probably be able to have an implant which will pick up the wireless transmission and relay it direct to your brain

put simply pete its a club funds to software cost issue
unless of course you wish to invest some hard earned cash into the club.
on a serious note the software is available but its the licence that costs the most. but am still looking into this for the future.

Understand Ian. £800 every 3 years is a lot of dough as a % of our retained "profit"

A little more than half a second Pete! all though gearing is going to be a nightmare again. 10.5 safe ratio? We could all VNC to the PC and be able to see whats on screen of course we would have to lock out the keyboard and mouse Will have to have a play and see what we can achieve without breaking the bank!
