I have just had a phone call from Iain Millers wife Carol.
Sadly Iain after fighting cancer for some time passed away yesterday morning at Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington.
I’m sure you will all agree he will be greatly missed at the club as a great guy who loved his racing.
The funeral arrangements have yet to be confirmed but I will post them here when I know more.
Please post your condolences on this thread and I will pass them on to Carol.

Sad news indeed.
Iain was always cheerfull even with the problems he had. You could always rely on him to be laughing and enjoying his racing.
I will miss him.

My heart and thoughts are with his family, who I know will be suffering greatly at the loss of a genuinely kind hearted man. Iain was one of lifes good guys, always smiling and never complaining. He was a major asset to the club with his always willing to help attitude.
I'll miss you bud, so "I'm sure" will countless others
Rest In Peace

That's a real shame, he'd been fighting it for so long.
It was great to see him racing right to the end, I hope we helped him enjoy his final months in some way.
I'll miss Iain and his endless patience - always positive.

My & Mrs C's condolences go out to Iain's wife & family.
We are both very sad to hear of his passing.
I remember my last conversation with Iain a few weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon, he was telling me he was having more treatment in the coming week but would be back track side the week after.
Always the fighter and a racer.......
We will both miss you Iain.

Iain will be greatly missed and my condolences to his wife and family.
His support for the local club (indoor and out) was superb and one many members should admire!
even at the big events when he was not racing, he would still pop down to help out with whatever could be done.
Unfortunately it seems the worst things happen to nice people! Iain, you will be missed.

Iain Miller
He raced purely because he enjoyed it and the people who he raced with. A man who took whatever life through at him and said im going to live it my way, and still did it with a smile on his face, a great lesson for us all.
My deepest sympathy's to his family for there loss, he was deeply respected by those who had the chance to know him and will be very much missed.

Hello please let me introduce myself my Name is Sam Smith and I am one of Iain Millers daughters, I have been truly blown away by all your comments on the message board. I have to say I did shed a lot of tears reading them as did other family members (in a very proud way) I now understand why my dad liked to race so much it was not just the car side of things but I see he had many friends and I have to say it brings me such comfort to know this. He would spend hour (and loads of cash lol) playing around with his cars, and The day he came home from Southampton hospital (Saturday) his words were “think I will give racing a miss tomorrow, maybe go next week” I never thought for one moment he would never race again. But please remember the joy you all bought my dad at a time when he needed to be surrounded by normality. Many thanks to you all, you never know maybe I could take up dad’s hobby lol (do you allow women drivers lol) It will be nice to finally get to meet you at Dads funeral (we call it “Iain Miller a celebration” in our house). Hope you don’t mind me joining your forum With love Sam Miller

Women are indeed able to race.
Its good to know our messages have got to the Miller family and hopefully provide some comfort in showing how much of a great presence Iain had at the club.

Many thanks to Carol, Sam and the Miller family for making us feel so welcome at the service today. It was lovely to hear the family members tributes and learn a little more about Iain’s for filling life, also to hear so many tributes from this post being quoted in the service. I am so proud to have been Iain’s friend and will miss him greatly. My thoughts are with you all. Love Terry

It would be great for us all to keep in touch, Terry we will be in touch about all dads racing stuff, there is so much we don’t know where to start lol. Also mum is finding it a bit hard to look at things like this at the moment. But I will give you a call or pop into the shop to say hi.
