yes a 190mm body shell will fit!
All you've got to do is choose one (and there's quite a bit of choice!) and paint it up!
The Dodge Stratus 3 is quite nice, as is the Mazda Speed6!
cue everyone saying which one they prefer!
(I'm a speed6 man indoors and outdoors, however I did start out on the dodge!)

dont forget the ltc however for a stable shell that makes the car easy to drive.... I also started out on the Dodge Stratus 3. I would strongly recommend a Protoform shell (Terry sells them). They mayb a little more expensive, but they do last longer than their rivals.

I was thinking of getting the lotus elise 2000 any thoughts ?? A big no there Chris, what may look good does not necessarily work. A body shell shape is vitally important to our cars even the little Ansman and so is the rear wing (none or small rear wing(Lotus) = no rear grip!!) As was quoted by the other lads the Dodge is by far the most stable giving best overall down force with balanced steering ,ideal for the Ansman with its limited set up,I strongly recommend this one a shell I like to use in the wet. The Mazda speed 6 is very similar in some ways but it will generally give more high speed steering and and low speed turn in but will feel a little less stable(less overall grip) compared to the Dodge....my favorite ;D LTCR,this is a shell that some of us use at certain tracks and conditions to "fine tune " our feel/set up,I personaly think its best suited to a smallish high grip track thats a bit Technical,...its certainly less stable than the others with a bit more bite to the steering...To me Its a bit of an "Iffy" shell that can work well for some drivers and not others...perhaps a good shell at Bashley during the "better grip" summer days.....Personaly im not too keen on this shell it can be unstable at high speed and make the car feel "twitchy" ....Its not bad on carpet though

Absolutely support Les' comments. We run the mazda speed6 but the Dodge is a far better choice for the beginner, a more composed ride without the Speed 6's twitcheness. We have also run the occassional Corvette bodyshell, clealry leaps ahead in the beauty stakes but well behind in the grip stakes Then again if you aint gonna win, you might as well look the part ;D ;D ;D Hey Dave, how about a winter class for 10.5 TCs with sportscar bodyshells - I could spray another Vette up for this Sunday

well it gives you plenty of steering, I tried it for a while and thought I liked it. But then went to the Mazda speed 6 and LTC-R and like both loads more. for Bashley I am more a fan of the LTC as it gives me more steering without making the car unstable. The DNA will give it pletny of steering, but make make the car super responsive and twitchy at high speeds. You might hate it, you might love it. but bodyshells dont seem to last long enough to worry to much , try it and see if you like it.

I found the DNA to push in high speed corners, and be oversteering in mid to low speed corners.. which contradicts what reubes says....
I use the speed 6 everwhere - i find having to swap between different body shells yet another setup option that can confuse you, stick to one shell all the time - the less variables.. the more chance you've got on getting the setup right!

Sorry I take that back, I'm thinking about the R9 - i agree with reubes about the DNA!

Have to say... I find the LTC an odd one...
Tried it at Cots, and really didn't work for me, rotated too much in the slow corners, although the more positive front end was great in the high speed stuff. This carried on my expereince with it at Mendip.
Now, at Alders the other weekend, tried going to the LTC again, having been stuggling a bit with grip through the sweeper... and the car was much better, with none of the low speed rotation issues I'd had previously. If anything car felt more stable than with the speed, which is contradictory to all my previous experience with this shell! Makes we wonder if it something to do with the way the Aldershot track flows, more than anything else!

Aldershot is all about hoarses... Nail the chicane and there's no need to lift for ages! If you're not quick down the straight your just not quick, I'm not keen on swapping shells.. But it seems to work for some!

hopefully you marked them on before you painted otherwise I usually cover the top of the body posts with a tiny bit of blue tac or felt pen - then place the body ontop, then the blue tac or pen will leave a mark on the inside. make sure the marks look even left to right. I usually ream the rear 2, then mark out where the front ones are compared to the rear - using blue-tac or pen if i forgot to do it before painted.
