So whos coming down Sunday to race?
It will be the first round of the SHMCC F1 championship (with lots of smiles hopefully).
There will also be some TC racing going on - its not a champ round for the TC's, so im up for some Testing and play racing.
Whos coming down and doing what? im torn between 17.5 and 13.5 - who else is coming down? then ill decide!

Apart from the grip issue, F1 in the wet is much better than TC as the wheels are outside the bodywork and so no spray. Things tend to stay drier.

We'll be down with 10.5 with refurbed wiring and drive shafts and Sorex tyres to ensure 110% reliability and that we can actually finish the races and smash you all into oblivion - who said winning wasn't fun Les, you just caught a carp; the car will have all round disk brakes, standard on all models since 1967; automotive industry leading hydroformed chassis, standard on all models since 1999 (have Ferrari andPorsche caught up yet?), no wonder we broke the Nurburgring production car record 18 months back, that ain't no dragstrip actually having s a lot of bends (7:26.4 vs Clarkson's pathetic 10 minutes plus - ignore the Clarkson staged film of the Audit R8 V10 (nice car) vs the ZR1); plus of course the head-up display, optional on all models since 2000; and not forgetting the space age resins that make up the body (following on from unique automotive industry leading work in the early 50's of production volume manufacture of fibre glass panels) - capable of reversing into a moving heavy metal gate with enough force to lift it in the air off the runners and move it back several inches with out sustaining a dent or a scratch (and took two men to lift it back on to the runners), which is why the ignorant berk can push it in with his fingers;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeh I think 17.5 will be the order of the day Jas, 13.5 may be a little less fun with it being damp.

I have never known it to start before 10 and got caught out last week because I wasn't ready for 9.45. I don't mind whether it is 9.45, 9.15 or whatever as long as I know; 5 minutes notice doesn't leave much time to prep your tyres. If it is down to the preference of an individual RD then maybe he could post on the web the night before?

Hi Pete,
The following was voted in at the last AGM
ADDITIONAL VOTED IN MOTIONS
• Outdoor Sunday meetings – Booking in to close at 9:30 am sharp • Outdoor Sunday meetings – Racing to start at 9:45am sharp • Outdoor Championship meetings - minimum 8 racing required.
If I remember correctly, the feeling was that Sunday start times were getting later and later. A bit of a circle when people turn up late for a meeting start which is already later than it should be.. The times voted on are actually a little later than the original start times that used to be up on the wall inside the old caravan race control..

What a fantastic day for the weather! track was dry for Q1 and bone dry for Q2. After suffering with software issues (which ended up actually being a broken sensor cable) I put the stock spec back in. Ran a number of different tyres through out the day (Sorex, RP30, Sweeps). Thanks to Jason for making me run his Sorex 28's for the last final - got a new PB of 20 309.75 (with the stock spec) I am amazed how much difference there is in tyre brands, even if they do all feel stable on the track. Well done to Jas for getting in the 20 lapper club ! Hope the F1's enjoyed themself, they looked good going round the track today Drainage is working well!

Throughly enjoyed today. F1 was great fun (despite a broken car in the last race dropping me to last ) Thank you to those running race control (sorry, don't know your names yet) Looking forward to joining in the next round.

Yup what a difference 12 hours makes! Weather was great, car was flawless (thanks Mick & Gray! ) apart from of course a dodgy 18T pinion that someone loaned us for F2 . Discovered late night that Sweeps add .75 to your ride height throwing out the meticulously prepared setup, so they stayed at home. The 28s worked well but clearly, with the temps up a bit, are not really up to a NG powered 10.5 but they gave us a 14.47 and gnat's whisker off 21 laps, if only we hadn't headbutted the thermometer on the last lap, so can't really complain. We took the 32s out after the racing and developed a new speedier line for 1&2, so you shouldn't have to wait so long next time Reubs Sorry I forgot to give you the £5 for taking Graham out in F1
