Hi, guys looking at getting back into racing, gave up just after starting as job ment had to work sundays.
Now free then. 3.6 is the std ratio for the track from what I read!
but I cant seem to get close. im on 64pitch at mo and looking at 48pitch but to get 3.6 i need something like 72/50 in but they dont seem to go that size?
So what sizes are you running for 3.6 with an internal of 2.43
Running stock not mod.
Cheers

Hi Stu.
What motor and esc are you using?
if its brushless standard ratios no longer work, unless you are running orginal generation brushless electronics. Post what you have:
ESC make/model Motor Brand / turns / type
and we can try help you out and get you racing again.
A number of our racers (including myself) had a cyclone with a 2.43 ratio, so it is possible to get down that low.
you will probably need to do something like a 60/40 to get there... Terry at reality racing will have those sorts of sizes available or to order.

Not got a motor setup yet, was looking at the ezrun 17.5t from ebay, or poss the losi one if can afford that. BL
What would I need to change the spool too to get the 2.1 or what ever the new cylclones are?
Cheers

To get the Cyclone down to 2.166 internal ratio, the changes are the two centre pulleys (from 16t to 18t i think) and the newer front and rear belts (which are 1 tooth longer than the WCE / original cyclone ones). you dont need to change the spool or diff to get to that ratio. ezrun would be ok, but if you are looking at the Hobbywing stuff - take a look at the Xerun versions. They have the same internals as a Speed Passion 2.0 (same factory) and have just released a Turbo feature (which wont mean anything at the moment, but its a great way to ensure your ESC is going to last you a long time and be competitive). I am currently using the Speed Passion version of the 60A Xerun, with the Hobbywing software loaded onto it and needing to gear arround 6.0 for a 17.5, so you can see how far that is from 3.6 (so its very ESC and now software version dependant). the 60A Xerun Blue Spirit would be easily sufficient for our stock motors ps. If all this does go over your head, not knowing your racing background. Then dont worry about software and stuff like that. take a look at the Xerun 60A, keep the stock software on it or come see someone at a race day to change your software (like myself) and you will end up gearing arround 4.5-5.0 with that ESC with a standard software on it. Alternatively if you do go for the ezrun version - you will be arround 4.0-3.6 Hope that helps and hasnt scrambled any brains or ideas Reuben
