What you need:
12th, theres two types:
T-bar Link
Link cars fit 1s lipo's without any modifications, and I would recommend the Link style car cos fitting a Lipo is far easier. Ones to look at are: Associated 12r5 / 12r5.1, CRC, BMI, Xray Link, Corrally Link, serpent link
Thats the main ones atm
Once you got one of them, you will want a 1s lipo.
ESC, you can go either brushed or brushless.
Most of us are running brushless 10.5, some run 19t brushed motors.
Go for whatever you want here, brushed is far cheaper, but brushless is less maintenance? No one has tried a 21t sealed can motor, or a 15t sealed can - but you would be more than welcome to try it.
Foams: you will want at least 2 sets of rears and 1 set of fronts Jaco Orange rear, Jaco Lilac front.
If you want to go 1s lipo, you will probably need a booster pack to boost the voltage to 5-6v for the receiver to work correctly. Darren and Jason have a cheap solution to this with some tinkering. Im using a TQ booster (which is the same sort of thing but twice the price).

You will also need a mini servo. I run a Savox and Ruebens is the futaba i think both of these are around the £40.00 mark but there are cheaper options out there.

No you dont need a booster then. Put it to 1s mode and it will be fine! So just a servo, battery, motor needed. Most of us are using 10.5, but 12th is pretty much unlimited, so put whatever motor you want into it. Im using a Hitec servo that was £25, doesnt fit as perfect as the futaba or savox ones do, but it works and ive never had an issue with it.

Hi everyone, Dean - please could I have a look at your instructions regarding the nos pearl as I have had trouble understanding which esc I have (I find the Nosram website quite confusing). Thanks. Sorry to hi-jack thread

I think you just need to look at what the BEC output is and I think it's 6v with the new pearl. You can run all of the Nosram speedos without a booster if you really want it will just mean your servo will run slower. I found this out last Monday when I forgot to check my booster was switched on.

Hi everyone,
Could anyone give me a guidance about what ESC+motor+battery to get for the 12th please? Aprox prices would be handy as well...
Many thanks!

Hi Kevin
A few of us have run the old gen 2 Nosram sphere or stock spec with 10.5 and they work well if you just like to plug and play. You can pick them up second hand for around £50.00 I would have thought. Or you can run any speedo you like really as long as it fits in the limited space you have in a 12th. With the new type gen 3 speedos you can get a 17.5 running as fast as a 10.5 but it drinks the battery so my advice would be to go for a 10.5 and wind it down on the speedo. Again you can pick up secondhand or Terry at Reality Racing has all this stuff in stock or can get it quickly. Batterys are 1cell lipo 3.7 volt for around £35.00. Now there are other options but this is what most of us run and seems to work well. Best thing would be to go and see Terry and he can give you a better idea of costs if your going for new bits. If your buying secondhand then the forums are a good place to start looking. Or put a wanted post up on our forum. Hope this helps

Hi!
Thanks for the info, I´ve just read it now. I already got the kit which includes ESC and motor. I´ll bring the old Cells this weekend and I´ll see how they go (I´m not specting any great result...).
See you next Wednesday.
