General interest / discussion.
What are peoples plans for 2011?
My own Plans are:
Try to complete all Club Champs - preferably Open TC (intending to run 13.5).
Reality Cup - again 13.5 Prefered, but will do 17.5 if theres more interest (like this year).
External club meets:
I dont intend to travel much / Race away much again this year. So ill be doing 4 of the 5 Nationals, and mayb 4 of the 5 BTCC's, but that will be it for me I think.
Still dont know what class yet, Hoping I will be doing mod - jumping in the deep end and all that.
How about everyone else?

2011 is the year of the house according to matt's calendar! As such, i'll be racing less away perhaps more at Bashley, I'll be rocking Pro-eco in Reality Racing Cup for a laugh possibly, and then open TC 10.5/13.5 for everything else, As for going away I'll attempt to do all of the National rounds, and the BTCC also, I'll give Mod a shot at both of them also, (unless I sh1t myself when I practice with it in a few weeks ) It's a shame SLCC seems to have died, although myself and Trev from YDMCRC have been chatting about perhaps doing something, If the club wanted to go away and do some weekends camping, the BRCA ETC should be the way forward i think; it's designed as a one day series and would be a great opportunity for us to show off some club talent, the Nationals are certainly not for the faint hearted, and don't carry the same kind of atmosphere as smaller meetings as often you've got two hour waits to get on track, and it's qualies on the Saturday, and finals Sunday, so no practice on the track over the weekend sadly.. I'd be up for travelling and camping as a big gang to do a few of the ETC rounds.

I will be racing as much as I can with 2 kids under 3 and 1 due in 4 months. If I can get to any of the big meetings I will but chances are I will just be racing wed nights and the odd Sunday as a bonus. I am mad for it but family commitments come first unfortunately. I will enjoy every one I can make though

Exams will get in the way of the first half of the season again. I am retiring in March so more time to spend on the car but less cash to travel all over the place. If the BRCA do, as they were saying, incorporate a junior championship into the Nats then we will focus on the Nats and do some BTCCs too. If they don’t then we will focus on club racing(17.5 for Ross and 6.5 for Craig); will do Aldershot Nats and BTCC irrespective of Junior position and probably do STCC Eastbourne.

I'll be local for most the year I think, travelling all over for work & racing in a kart championship this year. I'm looking at running in the BTCC rounds and the STCC at Southend (I have a m8 there who would like to see what it's all about!) Other than that I think it will be reality cup and club champs for me

Ansmann has gone So Eco-Pro all the way for me Looking forward to RRC and just having some fun meetings with close racing.. Need to have a few more BBQs this year and just finish up some of the odd jobs at Bashley (Fencing & Benches etc) and finally put a lot more effort into the fund raising for the new track.. We all put a lot of effort & time into the club last year to get it up to scratch.. I'm looking forward to a slightly more relaxed 2011!

Yes fun please!
Im also hoping to do / make some Setup Saturdays or something like that (mayb after a race meeting on a sunday). Not a setup / testing session as such, but more for the newer members and members we get towards spring, older members to as well. But to teach people how to do droop, ride height, camber, all the basics, but doing them well, and then get their cars to the stage where it handles well enough at bashley - its no fun trying to drive a car that isnt handling right!

Got off to a good start yesterday morning with an empty track and plenty of practice. An outstanding chassis setup change saw the lap times drop into the 14 secs, which given the conditions especially the wet moss that defied any decent line at speed around the tyre corner, was very pleasing.

What is the different between brca nats and brca club
|
|
|
Post by yellowshark on Feb 24, 2011 21:11:45 GMT
A variety of changes, key differences are Nats classes mod and 10.5; club 13.5 & 17.5 Nats Sat. am practice then 5 qualies and 3 finals spread over Sat. pm and Sunday Club - 2011 published BRDCA rules are confusing (to me at least) "Round by round qualifying with three scores out of five, and best two from three finals to count. Friday: Track Closed Saturday: Practice 10.00 – 17.00 Sunday: 3 x Qualifying Rounds FTD, 2 x finals" Pay you money and take your choice!! But as the Clubmans is limited to 2 sets of tyres I presume it is 3 qualies and 2 finals Nats is 3 sets of tyres Go here to read te complete document www.centralbooking.org/cbs/index.phpyou will see the 2011 rules .pdf file on the right hand side if you page down once, maybe twice
