Cheapest I could find for a 1.4 VW Lupo... But to be honest Pete it would have only been a couple of £100 cheaper if it had been a 900cc Matiz.. One tip, we obviously checked insurance when we got the car, but the comparison sites are a bit naughty.. They ask how long you've had a UK licence, of course Antz has had his provisional for just over a year.. The best quote we had was £1670... But when we called to take out the insurance, it became clear they actually mean FULL UK licence Hence the almost doubling in cost.... Good job we called them and didn't take it out online as he wouldn't be covered!! Read an article on line today saying young drivers cover went up 70% last year.. £3k to cover a £900 car third party F & F is taking the P, it's not surprising kids are driving around without insurance.. We did find one company that quoted £2700 but they wanted a tracker fitted and you couldn't use the car in peak commuting times or late night / very early morning.. So no point in having as car you can only drive mid morning or mid afternoon.. When does Craig take to the roads???

its actually cheaper to drive without insurance! even mine after 5 years no claims on a 1.9tdi Bora is £700 a year! which was £150 more than it was last year with 4 years no claims.... Go figure

When does Craig take to the roads??? Err, in another 10 years I think Dave! I had no idea it was that sort of price. Just been on to Confused.com and added Craig as a named driver to Jen's quote. It came back with £13,000 and change - beat that ;D
