Hi everyone. My names Adam 18 years of age and has had some small experience in RC racing (did it at Homefield school indoor)
I recently wanted to get into RC Racing once more but had no idea what tracks were available I ideally wanted a outdoor asphalt track, I stumbled across you guys from Reality Racing and thought great! but here is the downer and question.
I notice its electric only, I wanted to get into Nitro RC cars why? the noise? the realism??? is there any reason as to why Nitro's aren't used at the outdoor track??
If anyone knows a outdoor track that takes nitro and you can drift on (always wanted to do RC drifting as well as normal racing) please let me know and then Ill leave you guys alone!
All the best. Adam.

Hey Adam,
I too once raced at Homefield and made a return to the world of RC racing a couple of years back.
The main reason that we don't allow nitro's to be run is the noise, (we are homed right next to a caravan park) and also our circuit is a little too small - and doesn't allow big enough run off areas for us to run heavy IC cars safely.
I'm not sure that you can drift an IC car - as they all seem to use foam (super high grip) tyres. its certainly not a class that will be run competitively.
RC drift cars are usually shaft drive battery cars that use plastic wheels to allow a car to easily slide.
My best advice would be to get yourself back to reality racing - Terry has a massive knowledge of all classes of model car racing, not just Touring Cars and he will be able to point you in the right direction.
Alternatively pop up to Bashley on Sunday as there will be plenty of us up there willing to give our advice.
I think the closest tarmac tracks that are semi local to dorset are
Yeovil Yateley Aldershot
Google each with the phrase "Model Car Club" and you will find them with ease

Yeovil run nitro cars occasionally as does Weymouth. Not sure about drifting though. Check out their websites for further information.

Cheers guys for the responses! yeah I did think about the noise, I would go back into electric cars but its the whole..batteries and electronics etc it didnt appeal to me when i wasnt racing, all most like its too fiddly for me, Nitro's just seems to fill the right gap if you know what I mean.
There is one outdoor club in Ashley near Moors Valley the track isnt grass though it looks like astro turf judging by the photos..I am still awaiting a reply by email from the Secretary, not getting very far..may email the owner.
Thanks again guys!
