this only really works with larger numbers of racers..
but...
what about round by round qualifiers to decide final positions?
or what about...
qualifiying and final points make up your championship position.. EG there's 32 racers in the meeting.. you can get 32 points extra for TQ.. if the meetings only have 5 racers.. Q1 gets 5, Q2 gets 4 etc etc etc

Me and Pete had a quick discussion on Round by Round and one of Pete's comments hit the nail right on the head:
Club racing (especially at the beginning of the season) people use it to test parts / speedos etc ready for the up coming season, and also to try things out - People would be less likely to do this or want to do round by round, as you would have to have the car perfect all day (not good for those testing / or new members who's cars can deteriorate. )
However I think Newbury's way of counting score is good for the NOW series. eg: Qualifying is out of 100 F1 is out of 100 F2 is out of 100
so if you qualify 1st you get 100 points, then you get points depending on all your finals, then it takes the best 3 points (Adding them together), so you could effectively earn 300pts per meeting for either winning all 3 finals or Tq and winning 2 finals.
Make sense?
