Proposal
Club championships will have trophies. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each class. Where a championship has an F1 & F2 structure, the top 3 finishers in both F1 and F2 will receive trophies.
To receive a trophy the competitor must have competed in 50% of the rounds, rounded up to the next whole number; so for a nine round championship, 5 rounds must be completed to gain a trophy.
Reason for proposal: For all the obvious reasons, all championships in all sports award a trophy to the winning team or individual. In motorsport traditionally trophies have been awarded to the top 3 finishers.
The 50% rule is there to avoid awarding trophies where a championship is not contended and reality has not been a championship

an interesting idea Pete
at present - no-one really takes trophies, prefering to put the cash into the track "Pot". which leads on to another proposal I shall post shortly...
How do you split F1 / F2?

Southampton's club championship rounds used to just be one a month, this allowed us more adventurous racers to travel to other events and also test other classes if required. This we found was a great way of keeping championship interest as, generally there was 1 meeting a month with a high turnout. We used to be able to drop 1 from 6 from what I remember, but it depends how many rounds we do.... If we plan these well and run them when there are no big meetings I would expect more people will want to compete? I am willing to manage the clubs facebook page (thanks Liam and add race events so that it can be used as an advertising tool.

We do not actually have a proposal on club championships - you should make one! Can you include the STCC as well as the SLCC !
