d**n :S, that was not intentional. We tried to organise them similar to last years date and missing bank holidays (thats when most are away). Send mother off to the Relaxing Spa and bring the kid to the race track , sorted

Sadly, No T3 2012 for me this weekend , just can't afford it yet....and the Schumi was cheaper to repair anyway. Expect a rebuilt car and brand new diff for Sunday!!

I have left it all way to late, tomorrow morning early you will probably find me hunched over with a hangover doing shocks / diff and bodyshell cutting in a field!

I may well be there with my new soldering iron(?) tidying up the connections to Ross's motor from his "new" Tekin. Now his is fully 100% blinky
Popping down the track now to check the FDR

Great start to RRC 2012! Weather held out and a very good turnout to boot. Thanks to Terry for a fine RD job and to everyone who raced. Special thanks to Jo T for sneaking up the track Thursday & Friday for a little additional paint job!

Another good race day and really lucky with the weather. Just have to decide now if I am going to spend another lump of money on a brushless set up or try to get the old 27 turn brushed kit out again. Well I will have to do something to be on the pace.
Then again I may just leave the Firebolt in.......will not be competitive but it will be a lot easier (and cheaper!)
Looking forward to the next round

Looking forward to the next round Indeed an enjoyable day, shame the sun went in in the afternoon! The destruction derby exhibition in F3 of the Open class A final was entertaining if not example setting - no idea who won! It would be interesting Ian to know what your best lap times were and Terry's, whose 27T was certainly moving. Ross was pretty consistent around the 16.84/6 and I guess I would expect you and Terry to be at least .75 faster if not more

From what I can remember Pete my lap times were in the 17s and Terry I think had a fastest of 16.2ish? or thereabouts. Need to look at the sheets to confirm that. I know Terry lapped me in at least 2 of the races. Simon and James were also pretty fast and certainly much quicker than me. I think I got fastest of the sealed cans but not anywhere near the others.
I just loved the sound of Terry's car whining down the straight. Awesome!
Ross looked very quick and would have been on the pace if he was a bit more consistent. He will get there for sure as he is improving all the time.

Interesting looking at the times. It would appear that 27 turn brushed stock and 17.5 blinky brushless is approx half a second a lap faster overall. The best time I did (Final 2) had a best lap only 3 tenths slower than Terry but overall was nearly a lap down. Obviously need to try harder!
Off to spend huge amounts on the latest brushless set up ready for the next round.

Destruction derby it was! I was having trouble working out where I was too! Shame the car wasn't as good as it was in F2.... I'll have a fiddle with the settings on Saturday, but ultimately I think it's new car time..

Oh no not another XRAY on the grid ;D At this rate I will be able to sell my vintage T2 ("006") for a princely sum for those of you interested in classic cars
