Just wondered who's going to be racing in this years SWICC championship? Me and the old man are thinking about doing some rounds providing it falls on weekends we have free.
Having never done it before is there anything i should be aware of? Any strict rules or is it quite laid back?

Sean and I are thinking hard about it. Last year it was really nice to visit some of the outdoor tracks, they were all really great days out. Travelling so far for carpet rounds does not hold the same "draw" as the likes of Mendip, Aldershot etc. But we have our 2nd/3rd mini places to defend or improve upon which is why we are thinking hard. I'd prefer to do a SHMCC outdoor championship instead.
Things were usually quite laid back for us, as a lot of the time we (SHMCC) would all be in the same final. So cannot really comment on what it was like in the B or A. Sean was shouted at on one of the rounds when marshalling (the exact words were "get a move on"). Unfortunate that someone feels the need to have a go at someone for their crash (and an 11 year old kid at that), but I suppose with that many racing, you are bound to get one or two.

Yes while Andrew and I might do the odd round (and will only be an odd round), I also am disappointed after last year that all but one race is indoors. Like you would have been better for me personally to be outdoor races on some of the best tracks but not to be. I suppose at least they are guaranteed to race regardless of the weather.

I agree it is a shame about the tarmac rounds, but the decision was made based on numbers that attended rounds each round as at many of the tarmac rounds where mostly the host clubs drives and the carpet rounds where a lot better attended. Have just the one special tarmac round will in theory mean that you guys have a lot more drivers attend it. Be a shame if you guys dont make a fight of the championship this year as current champions

Im still on the fence about it... I probably will go as i have no other plans on Sunday at the moment although ive not spoken to her indoors yet..
Do we have to book in advance? Or can we turn up on the day?
And do we have anymore info on the location? A postcode would be good.

Youth Centre Vallis Road Frome BA11 3EF
Last year we tried to turn up around 8-8:30am. Usually finishes around 3pm I think. And yes, you can just turn up and race.

Only three of us there. But I think we did ok.
17.5 Blinky Andrew had a 3rd and 4th in the A finals (I think) Sean 4th and 5th in the B I had two 3rds in the B
Mini Sean had two 2nd places, I had two 3rd places.

Well done Tony, Sean & Andrew. Sounds like a good result for all three of you :-)
Did Sean get his bacon bits fix?

I can confirm Tony and i believe Sean both got there bacon bits fix albeit a little soggy..
Was a good day but a very long one and i would much prefer to have been outside. Won all my heats but remained 3 laps off the quickest guys so after a motor and gearing change for the finals it was a little better. I qualified 4th in the A and got a 4th and then 3rd in the finals but brought the lap difference down to nearly 1. The only people above me were Frome members so not a bad result considering they race there every week.
It did make me realise how much im looking forward to racing outdoors again though.

Can't beat the smell of warm tarmac! Was there really only one boosted entry?

Im not sure... there was definitely no boosted class so i can only assume there wasnt enough to run a full heat.
If i remember correctly there was 1 x heat of minis, 1 x heat of 12th, 4 x heats of GT12 and 3 x heats of 17.5 TC.

The boosted must have been in the B final with us as Sean got a 4th and a 5th, but the results show him as getting two 4ths.
