From a shaky start this morning the weather has improved for tomorrow so much that it is now looking like sunshine all the way....

Well, looks like I have some work to do after last night. Bit of a nightmare for me only finishing 2 races. Broken ECS drive shaft appears to be the culprit for one and worn out pulleys that meant the belt came off in the other. Need to do a big rebuild before next week. That's my pocket money gone!

So, a strip, down tonight to see what the damage is. One ECS drive shaft absolutely shattered, gear diff pulley stripped, front spool pulley worn out, both front and rear belts split and front belt has teeth missing it is so worn. The centre shaft pulleys, well one is perfect, the other, for some unkknown reason needs a denture! There are teeth missing. Guess this what happens when you race week afte week with only basic maintenance. I should know better but never seem to have enough time!
So new pulleys, drive shafts, belts and a new bearing set are all on order. Just hope they arrive in time for me to rebuild it before Wednesday.

Sounds like a nightmare Ian! I've been feeling a little guilty of late for not putting some time into my regular car..

I felt guilty last night having to spend a load of money again on bits for my toy car! Then I saw the price of tickets to see England play rugby at Twickenham and was sort of starting to think this hobby is maybe not as expensive as I thought....
FYI tickets up to £315 each and if you want to go to the final expect a ticket price of £775.
So RC racing is cheap! I feel another Old Time Racer article coming on......

You always used to tell me there not toys!!!
If you need a hand or if there's any bits i have that you need then let me know! I have some bearings i think that you gave me!

£775 for a ticket to see the final... That's mad! Mind you we spent the best part of £400 last weekend to be at the Royal International Air Tattoo for two days and that doesn't include the £1600 I spent on a new lens! So in reality RC racing is a cheap hobby to maintain

New pulleys, belts, diff housings, bearings, bushes and drive shafts arrived today. Looks like a lot of work to get ready for Wednesday but we will be there!!! Thought I had everything but once you start taking things apart you find all sorts of bits you forgot that are worn out or need replacing. Might be cheaper to buy a new car....how do I get that past 'er indoors though.....
