Sunday 10th April - Bashley Track Clean Up and Pre Season Shake Down
OK guys, as those who've ventured up the Bashley recently have seen our poor old track is in need of a little TLC before the "Summer" season gets underway!!
So this Sunday I propose those who are available to help come on down to Bashley at 10am and we all get stuck in for a couple of hours and finish off with a little open practice for those who want to have a bit of a shake down..
Obviously this is subject to weather etc, but all is looking good at the moment..
So if you are free for a couple of hour this Sunday please post here :-)

Hi John,
the track needs cleaning off as there is a lot of cut grass that has started to decompose.. So I guess a spade / garden rake / stiff broom etc?? I think the ideal thing would be a pressure washer!

I have a pressure washer. How far to nearest tap. To see if I have enough hose to reach track. I will bring stiff brush anyway

Hi John & Martin,
Nearest tap is in the camping field John, its attached to the fence that boarders the access lane so its quite a reach just to get it to race control.. We would also need to just clear its use with the landlord first.. I've a washer as well with a addional pressure hose extension and a patio cleaning head which might do the job.. Suggest we assess the track tomorrow and if needs work out what we need to get a washer working down there.. If it's possible we can organise a separate track washing session next week..
Thanks for the offer Martin, you're more than welcome to pop down and give us moral support and perhaps make the tea :-)

Wow, what a difference a few hours of hard graft can make! Massive thanks to Paul, Matt, John, Martin & James for coming down and giving Bashley that much needed spring clean Grass cut, old grass cuttings removed from track and the whole track has been edged! New orange fencing at the end of the straight has been fitted to boot.. Not only that but we also checked the PC, printer, PA and all important loop were all still working! So Bashley is ready to race We just need to give some of the curbs a bit of TLC and a coat of paint to finish the job off.
