The GT10 class got me thinking about a TC event – the "XX" TC 24 hours! At 1:10th scale that would be 2.4 hours
Thoughts 1. Teams of 2 or 3 drivers to ONE car; this will reduce cars on the track. I guess 30+ cars would be too much? 2. rule for minimum time by any one driver in total. Plus rule for length of any one stint. We can take this from the 24 hours rule and scale down 3. Teams made up from RRC results. Ie person with highest abil % matched with person with lowest, and so on. That would suggest teams of 2 or 4 4. Stock and Prostock classes on track at the same time as per the real event! 5. run in the summer in the evening; maybe timed so that the last 20 mins is running when it is starting to get dark but still visible 6. Need a simple rule for entering and particularly exiting the pits 7. Need something like Lipo cutout absolutely mandatory 8. Limit to number of tyre sets and all sets marked prior to race and scrutineered prior to pit exit. 9. No replacement engines or electronics; except batteries. This is an endurance event not a sprint.
You'd love it wouldn't you and what an excuse for a BBQ ;D

Just to be absolutely clear, my suggestion is for our cars Les, not the GT10 class, it was just that the GT class gave me the idea
The GT10 class is a new proposal for the BRCA agm agenda; (submissions closed and all submissions now listed on the BRCA site.) It seems like they run this in the States, a class for 10th Scale cars based on pan-car chassis with 2WD, direct drive transmissions using solid rear axle.

Gt10, it's the new Pro10...
Basically 1:10th pans, but 200mm wide, with GT bodyshells (rather than 235 and LMP's). Seems to be quite popular over in the USA at the moment, with a fair few manufactuers making cars.
But I think Pete's refering to doing an event with TC's... correct? Still, like the idea, done a few enduances before. Only issue I can see is would it be one car only per team, or would the each driver be allowed to use there own?

Ed I was thinking of one car only. You could change setups in pit stops but you will loose time. This is where strategy of course comes into it. Or you choose a compromise setup that suits both drivers. And yes one of you will have to learn the other transmitter, probably - or you swap receivers during pit stops. Again brings the element of strategy into it. Another thought I had was replicating fuel limits; ie maximum number of Lipo/6 cell charges during the event BUT I think this would be too complicated ;D It would be nice though, you would have to drive slower to ensure you didnt run out of power; but how much slower . And you will need to introduce some team planning/team work. EG driver brings car into pits. Other driver picks it up and legs it to the pit table and starts doing something like a tyre change. Orignal driver turns up and helps/takes over. 2nd driver takes transmitter and adjusts to his preference and legs it back to the rostrum. Original driver completes work and legs it to scrutinering and the pit exit. Or something like that ;D

Ok Pete got it !..like pro 10?..thats where I started..1000/1200 mah cells and 19 quad motors a real drivers control style /class,down side was the foam tires, expensive and "chunked" easily...duration was a pain in the rear too ..the only thing that was nice was the body shells, late 80s Le-Mans,they looked great on the track and many variants worked well, not like todays TC,s...speed 6 ,Dodge jelly moulds..hey ho As for the endurance, the club has done this befor, good fun it is too..but I would,nt fancy any one else driving my pride and joy for too long:( I think the club ran it somthing like this Teams of mixed ability's Use your own car! any shell??..team shells would be nice but impractical and expensive One transponder per team to be changed at pit stops,or a form of Batton should we all have PT's Motor/cells of any choice Last driver Marshall's Run over 4 hours with a brake after 2 hours Lots of fun and more tactical than some may imagine
