I'm just rebuilding my driveshafts and I was going to put the lightweights in the front and the back. They say rear driveshafts on the packet and standard fronts are hardened steel.
Are they likely to break in the front?

In my experience i have found it better to have hd in the front, as the spool gives them such a hard time.
Lightweight are fine in the rear mate

Definitely agree with Matt. Hard black driveshafts in the front blue ones in the rear.
