Hi all im a noob to the forum but not to the rc world. I have bought myself a new on-road electric car and after a few weeks of car park bashing i want to get into the club racing schene. I am in southampton and i have looked on your main site and think how brilliant the outdoor track is, but i just have a few questions:
1.) Is it possible to find out when the next outdoor race is on a sunday, and times? Because i would like to come along just to watch and get a feel for it all. 2.) Is there out of hours practice times. i.e. after joining if i wanted to pop down on a saturday or stay longer on a sunday for a bit of extra practise can this be done? 3.) Are there "friendly" races because i see that this years winter championship has started. So is there anyway i can get racing before the summer? 4.) How long does the average race last, thinking of batterys? 5.) I am looking at going into the 19t class- i run a tc4 carbon fibre chassis with 5000 mah non lipo batts, and a mamba max esc with just normal on-road tyres. Would that set up be legal to enter a race with?
Sorry for all the questions im just keen to get it right with minimal mistakes, also sorry if this post is in the wrong section.
Thanks all in advance.

Hi James,
if you check the calendar at the top of the forum page you will see when racing is. Usually every Sunday weather permitting. Just come on down, no problem. Out of hours practicing can be had but best to come down on a Sunday and speak to people to get all the low down on what to do. Races last 5 minutes each, usually you have 4 qualifying races and 3 finals during the day. You car will be fine I am sure. Just bring i down and join us racing. We promise to be gentle with you.
There are always plenty of people who are willing to help you get started and show you what to do so dont worry.
Next race is this coming Sunday and the weather is looking good (fingers crossed)

Hi James.....we are racing this Sunday and there is no reason why you cant join in the fun, regardless of any championship. Or just pop down to savor the atmosphere, have a chat,or even run your car round befor racing or during lunch break. Most of us will be there by 9 am and will probably race through to about 3ish....look forward to seeing you

hi james, i think Ian and Les pretty much answered all your questions, i will add though that your first meeting is free and your welcome to join in the championship at any point. We have racers of all abilities and we'll always put you in a race with drivers of similar ability. The weather's looking ok for sunday so come on down and join the fun. I look forward to meeting you

Nice to hear of another new racer interested! - Pop down whenever you like James... normally there's a bit of a bbq/breakfast thing before racing which is a great time to meet people! we're all a friendly bunch! - check out on the forum for a thread with the sundays date, there's allways a message in there on the morning of the race to decide if racing is on or not!

Thanks all well i will be down on sunday, if you start at 9ish then i will come down a little later so i dont get in the way of the morning set up/practice. Some of us will be there well befor 8.30,as for practice/set up. Have a run you may fancy racing?? you wont be in the way at all..most of us hang around the BBQ waiting for bacon sarnies and worry about set up during racing ...plus it will give you a chance to sort your car out and get some help if you need it....We may sacrifice the odd goat or two but we dont bite..honest ;D Any way you wont be on your own, Garry Goodman (a new member) will be running a 10th car for the first time.
