But that means i need to get a new one- what would people say was the best one to by either 19t or 10.5 t brushless! Also what makes i have seen the 19t money motor but ya a few options of what peopple think are the best motors for life and of course performace. thanks all

james. 19 or 10.5 is a great big no no. Way too fast ;D Only our top drivers run anything that fast and then generally only in the summer. 27 brushed or 17.5 brushless is all anyone will be running this week. They're pretty closely matched but if you can stretch to the cost of brushless then that's the way to go. As there's very little maintenance to do.

Go brushless if pennys allow, brushed motors are becoming a thing of the past rapidly..the club does run a 19t/10.5 class but normaly during the summer, the majority run 17.5,you will find this class plenty fast enough for beginer or expert alike!the other popular class is 13.5 and is well worth considering, some lads do often run this class this time of year....most of our fastest lads love the 17.5!..but make sure befor you buy your car can make/mesh a Final drive ratio of at least 3.5 with various spur/pinion gears for the 17.5 and between 4.3 to 5.2 for the 13.5 and 10.5..19t between 6.0 to 7.0 depending apon motor(revy or torque'y).. dont stray too far from these ratios
If you go brushless the Losi Exeleron or Nosram/Lrp are reliable/fast and good value for money....dont worry about any questions you may have, just fire away.....If you are really stuck for a motor to run on Sunday, Pm me and I will bring along a 27t for you to use!

Ok thanks, its a pain because i run a mamba max 7700kv and esc combo and its geared for 80mph with 2cell 5000mah lipos. Thats great for messing around with but obviously no good for the track. at the mo i am running a 72t spur and 22t pinion this gives me a final ratio of 8.18 i think. what sort of gearing would i need to achieve the ratios you have mentioned? And hopefully the car can run the ratios, its a associated tc4. Thanks for all the help, i think i will be able to get a 27t motor prity easily coz they only cost like £6 lol. Any preference on a good motor to get make/model?

believe it or not ratios is the hardest thing to get right (at first), I would take les up on the offer of a 27t to use - they will be well maintained and will be good enough to keep with the pace. As a used/skimed/re-brushed 27t will be better than an off the shelf £6 jobby.
ratio for the 27t, you are probs looking for about 6.8 - 7.2 from what i remember.

8.18 is a very low gearing even for our track and would give very very poor top speed even for a 19t.
Any one know the internal ratio of the TC4??...so we can give james a guide for fdr's
A £6 sealed can 540 will be very slow for our track.

Cheers Martin
James with your current 72 spur a 26 pinion will give you 6.9, this should be a good starting piont for a 27t stock.
