Weather permitting we will be having a non-championship funday on Sunday the 21st, bacon rolls and mince pies along with a glass or two of wine will be complimentary for all members Race fees will also be half price to all SHMCC members Racing will be mostly unconventional, ideas at the moment are: Last man Standing, as the title says the last man on the track is the winner, no marshalling! this can be either non-contact or anything goes. Towing race, any car permitted, providing it's towing a caravan or trailer Reverse Track race the track in the opposite direction If anyone else has any other good ideas for fun races, please feel free to post away If your going to join us please let us know by posting in this thread, just so we know how many mince pies to get Hope to see you all there

cops and robber: robbers start at top of hill, cops start in pits cops cant move until robbers pass the start line. robbers have to survive 5 laps with the cops trying to take them out. cops = 13.5/19t , robbers= 17.5/27t you have twice as many cops so either 1:2 or 2:4 hehe

Last one standing - Rollerball variant (remember to movie oldies)
2 teams of 5. Start off line abreast(or whatever a long line is called!). lap bonus marks each time your standing cars x the line line abreast (minimum of 3 ie once down to 2 cars no more lap bonus points). Objective is to make sure one of your cars is the last one standing - ie none of your opponents are.

Team fun race
Depending apon numbers, the fastest drivers on the day chose in turn fellow team members from the rest of us (min 3 drivers per team) Each team uses one hand out transponder. Set lap top race format to finals with 30sec or one min between races.races will be the amount of drivers per team,ie teams of 4 = 4, 5min races All cars to start races in line abreast, from pit line "more fun", at the end of the race the idea is to get back to the pits asap to change transponder with your team mate/s and get on the line as quick as poss for the next start...chaos?? ;D Wining team = totaled laps Marshaling..last team member to race marshals then as per normal. Delaying tactics and skull dugery encoraged along with gentle punting during the races.
There is no prob if one team has an extra or one less driver, that team or the other teams will have to choses a driver to race twice
Rules..preferably all stock 27t/17.5s or one only 13.5/10.5 per team Keep to track direction at all times!!
It should'nt last long

I like the rollerball version, aka you get 1 point per lap per car, and 1/2 a point per car that passes the line within 0.20 of the lead car for that team.. so you have the dilema of getting as many laps in as u can for each car in the team, or sticking together and picking up the extra points where possible

The hare and the tortoise.
I will take to the track. You loose a lap for every time you hit me. Which means you have 15+ chances of loosing a lap ;D

Rollerball version would be unworkable and only 1 car would probably complete a lap all the rest would be in the grass. The team idea proposed by les is good as everyone has a vested interest in doing a good job and it is not over in 5 mins. Still think trailers would be good though.

Have a van race too..plenty of time for all sorts..even a serious heat or two

Do we have a final close decison on what the agenda is for Sunday? Hi Pete ..yes there is one but it depends apon the weather and how many turn up?...It may be a moist track tomorrow? that may put a "dampner "on the agenda.....Its realy down to what you guys want. We will probably start with a team race and then play it by ear,but there will be heats/finals racing, bacon butties and fun!

Great! Les, I've got a third of this pack o' bacon in the fridge, Keith thought you had some stuff left over.. if you bring that then we'll def have enough..
I spotted that the bacon we buy at home is from tesco produced by key country foods.. the bacon I got from the supplier is also produced by key country foods so it should be good stuff I hope!!

Many thanks to Matt and Reuben for a great days track fun, although we didn't have enough racers to have a big team event, I think the majority enjoyed the day.
I bet Rossy enjoyed his day, he drove brilliantly, right up to the point where I took him out, Sorry Ross.
getting in the way with the caravan during practice was my best bit ;D
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE, SEE YOU ALL NEXT SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
