Do you guys change your rotors to give you a more revvy or torquey motor depending on track?
Is that legal - Club/RRC/SLCC rules?

The BRCA rules state a minimum of 12mm and maximum of 15mm I think for rotors. You can change them as you like as long as they stay within these parameters.
I am still trying to work out what difference they make?

from a logical view a larger rotor would give more Torque because there would be a more magnet there to kick-start the rotation + a larger magnet - the edge of the magnet would be closer to the coils where the closer magnets get the stronger the resistance. but I could be completely wrong, we need someone who knows magnetism

I did read that the LRP works team were all running the 13mm rotor but it did not say why?
I also would like to know exactly the difference although the whole scenario of having to change rotors for different tracks worries me a bit.

I did see a set of rules (somewhere, I recall not where) that specified rotor diameter.
I personally think there is a need to make the Spec brushless motors more 'Spec'! ie fixed timing, fixed rotor size. I'm sure it'll happen at some point, just like it did with brushed.

Like I said Simon. The BRCA list what sizes are allowed.
I am so with you on having a proper "spec" motor. Would make life so much easier.

Oh I meant that I read a set of rules for a particular tournament that specified a single rotor diameter.

Ahh, right, sorry. Would just be easier if the BRCA only listed one size and everyone had to stick to that.

We have a club rule that only allows rotors up to 13mm :-)
