yep my orange race car will be here early jan! ;D Out doors..If my 008 is anything to go by Jamie, start with kit tarmac setting you wont be far out with perhaps a small increase in ride hight and droop...roll bars did'nt work for me round Bashley either.

I guess John Pryor is your man for an indoor setup. He's on the Hamworthy club forum.
Mmm, Xray...

I know this may be a big ask but does anyone have a good starting setup for bashley outdoors/indoors for 008/009 EU rubber asphalt kit settings with following minor changes. - swaybars; Les and I have always differed on this on any car; we love them so they are on the car. - quick roll centre positions:NB the Xray basic asphalt setup sheet for rubber tyres was mis-printed. The front and rear positions should be position 3 NOT position 1; i.e. inner/upper. - front downstop changed from 6 to 5.5 - quick saver Ackermann setting - 4; this is used in conjunction with a steering setup which has the inner wheel angle (on lock) set to 17.5 degrees; i.e 17-18 degrees allowing for setup equipment accuracy. - kit shocks; we have these built as adjustable; front is 4 holes open & rear is 3 holes open. If you are using the non-adjustable option; the holes are .9mm so front = 3.6mm open and rear is 2.7mm open - aluminium shocks(non-adjustable); front is 3 * 1.2mm holes; rear is 2 *1.3mm holes - rear diff; certainly close to kit setting; we run ours fairly loose Subsequent to settling for these settings we added the asphalt rubber tuned top deck which was a noticeable improvement; and the alumininium shocks, ditto NB these settings are for 27T engine and IR of 2.375. If you are using an IR of 1.7 you will no doubt have different feel and might want to test/tune the above. 2.375 will give you more corner speed with a 27T (and 17.5???); 1.7 will give you a more aggressive feel

Oops plus importantly, topped off with a Mazda speed 6 bodyshell. If you are using another bodyshell you may well need to make some adjustments to give you more initial turn in. We will all have different views on this but for us with the 008 and our setup the speed 6 is a better shell for Bashley. Yes it is more unstable than some others, but horses for course. We now use the Alfa 159 (or is that 156?) for foreign more open sweeping tracks. If you are using the standard mazda it will not turn in as much as the speed 6 without making some setup changes to either the standard kit settings or the tuned version in my previous post.
hth ;D
oh caveat emptor; we have not tuned the car for the really cold temps we have been expereince over recent weeks. We will probably be lazy and lay the rear shocks down from 4 to 3 if need be.
