Thanks Reuben, a very well run meeting.
Sam Martin's run was impressive, a 19 lapper with a 17.5 in his first race for what, 5 years?
And Ed's plastic bathtub was fantastic! Tamiya's ROCK!

you have 2 heats of 5 + 2mins warning = 14minutes... + 25 to recharge.... = 39 minutes turn arround. Pretty good going I think, although easily done with these 17.5's and only taking 1400 out of a battery. Ide imagine we may struggle that turn arround time with pro-stock, but then if you have more heats the time between your last races Always seems shorter IMO. Indeed Sam's performance was impressive, look forward to seeing him race.

I was taking out more than 1400, so was struggling to get charged, mainly in the last final which the gap was a bit shorter?
I can only charge at 5A tho.

No problem Reuben, it was the first time I've run with only one lipo, I've used 2 previously, so it was a learning day.
As long as I get them on charge as soon as I come off it should be fine.

To be honest any meet at any club should have at least 40 mins between rounds because of the charging issue....Nicd/ Nhims deliver the best when charged from nearly flat!(not Lipos though)!thats how its was always run a top meet
Unfortunately Lipos take longer to replenish a given mah than Std cells due to the nature of the charge..even chargers differ in time to complete a charge even if the output charge is the same.
Oddly differing manufactures specify different "safe charging" specs even though the "guts" of the pack still have the same chemical reactions...hmmm
There is absolutely no advantage other than time to increase the charge amps to your Lipo..disadvantage yes, reduced life.
Personally I have charged 3600's at 6.5 amps "was pushing for time" and I never noticed any temp rise in the pack.
Sorry if this subject may seem to be on the wrong thread but its rather relevant to yesterdays meeting
