This is an interesting one given our membership concerns. When we joined the club it wasn't like this. The top drivers went off to the SLCC and the club carried on with its race meet, with the members enjoying the taste of victory for a change ;D.
This changed last year when 15+ members went off to the SLCC. Nothing wrong with that but it does potentailly create a position where other members, having paid their membership, face 6 weeks during the summer when there is no racing, a pretty high percentage if those are 6 sunny days. Can't say I feel comfortable with that but I don't know what the answer is.

Indeed Pete, there have been some offers of people to run race meetings, however they're not trained in using the software, there is also the issue of who can transport the gear to Wednesday and Sunday race meets, hopefully the disruption should only be over the first SLCC meet, after that other racers, who do not travel to distant tracks should be trained in using the software. The gear last year was used at most of the SLCC events, stopping meetings from taking place, however this year the case is different, there is a separate laptop for the SLCC. Also lets not forget one of those 6 is the Bashley round and Local racers can enjoy a more enlivening race meeting at their local track, home advantage and all that! Matt

so i guess as you have asked everyone that you think can run the meeting then thats it but how about everyone that runs the cheap class at the reality cup. the Slcc run out of places very quickly this year. So there might be some racers that would like to practices or if there is enough then the club can earn some money.
So how many people are around on sunday to race or practice please let us know on here.

Darren did you not read my earlier post??
There's no one available to run race control, and this is not a situation the committee are happy with, however we are all volunteers and we're doing our best under very difficult circumstances. There has been a number of plea's for volunteers to run race meetings, as yet only two people have offered. they're not yet trained in using the software.
Once this happens then other race meetings can go on whilst SLCC is on.
The committee are volunteers, at present all ACTIVE members of the committee are intending to race in the SLCC,
MEMBERS are welcome to use the track at any time they want to practice, so long as it does not aggravate our neighbours...
Aside from asking members to donate to an honesty box, I can't see how we can earn money whilst there is no timing gear or race director available.
I hope what I've said makes sense, perhaps Darren you would like to volunteer to run a race meeting at some point??
Matt
