Anyone seen or had any experience with this?? Apparently it has some kind of launch control? Surely that can't be racing legal is it??

Ok, Fair enough. What about the esc itself though? Is it much of an upgrade from the last version? or more of just a facelift model..

By all intents and purposes, this one (and the SXX) are aimed more at the mod racers. Yes, it does have a new case, and software updates... but these are aimed mostly at getting the most out of the lower wind motors. Honestly, if your looking for a very good stock/spec speedo, then the ISTC Stock Spec is the one to have.. as it basically has active timing advance, where by the timing is increased during as the rev range increases... i.e. more free ponies! The SXX/Pearl doesn't have this in the programming. Having said that, it's not what I'm getting as my new speedo... I've got (hopefully) something better on the way Ed

Matt: Hey mate, I'm thinking its nearly time for me to get a decent spec speedo.. So I'll be interested in the info you get too. If your prepared to share it Ed: Nice one.. Thanks for that advice.. So, if I understand you correctly, this new ESC is actually not as good as the ISTC Stock in non modified or higher wind motors. But will come into its own when running those types of motors...

launch control indoors is a one way trip to a crash or just spin on the line... Outside its good stuff.... hopefully you will get to race outside now the summers here Jason... Nothing quite like rubber on tarmac! Im hoping to pick up a new speedo in a month or two.. nearly have the funds to do so. So I will be in a choice war of speedo's again. But yes the stock spec did look impressive...especially when a certain car using it gained an extra 5 foot in the last 10 feet of the straight at aldershot.

Hey.. Are you implying that I don't race outside because of the cold lol, Having said that, Racing outside now its getting warmer does appeal to me a lot more. I think its about time a made some changes to my weekend schedules to free up some time for it as I'm actually really looking forward to racing on the asphalt track. ;D

Should any one get one of theses speedo's you will have to relearn your favored FDR'S...be warned!! or you may nuke your motors!!...Advancing causes rapid heating ...ask Pete ;D...stick to the cheapie's be very slow..be very safe ;D

It's ok Jason, Ruebs has no idea about racing on carpet.. You can use launch control indoors if you really want to, at Chippenham it was a definite advantage.... Get racing outdoors.. it's great fun,

Buying an up graded speedo is not an instant way to more speed, there is no substitute for experience and lots of track time to find a motors sweet spot...if you want the best out of your combo the motor has to be pushed to the limit.with other parameters working for you (set up)..a very fine line!!.. A perfect on the limit FDR/temp found on practice day may well change on race day in different grip and race conditions, this can be the cause of some motors popping?...be slightly conservative during practice

Also worth noting that newly cleaned decent bearings & proper fdr will probably see a much greater speed increase than buying an updated speedo???

Thanks guys, I'm not looking at a new speedo just for more speed though, I'm currently running the Nosram Evil Reverse (Cheapo I brought just to get into brushless). Which as we know cannot disable reverse, and does not have any customisable settings at all, as well as not being able to cope with anything lower than a 13.5.
